ArtBridge, in partnership with The Durst Organization, has revealed a 600-foot-long public mural and augmented reality experience along the edge of two rising developments at 20 and 30 Halletts Point in Astoria, Queens.
The Soloviev Foundation will soon debut “Field of Light,” a six-acre immersive installation along the waterfront edge of Murray Hill, Manhattan. Designed by acclaimed artist Bruce Munro, the installation will take shape at Freedom Plaza, an undeveloped parcel of land along the East River from 38th to 41st Streets.
Yesterday at noon the long-awaited Perelman Performing Arts Center (PAC NYC) opened to the general public on the 16-acre World Trade Center site at 251 Fulton Street in the Financial District. Designed by REX with Davis Brody Bond Architects as the executive architect and developed by The Perelman, the 138-foot tall, 129,000-square-foot cubic structure features three flexible performance spaces: the 450-seat John E. Zuccotti Theater, the 250-seat Mike Nichols Theater, and the 99-seat Doris Duke Foundation Theater, all enclosed in a translucent book-matched marble façade. The $500 million property is bound by Vesey Street to the north, Fulton Street to the south, Greenwich Street to the east, and Skidmore Owings & Merrill‘s One World Trade Center to the west.
Construction is nearing completion on the Urban League Empowerment Center, a 17-story mixed-use building at 121 West 125th Street in Harlem, Manhattan. Designed by Beyer Blinder Belle and developed by The Prusik Group, BRP Companies, L+M Development Partners, and Taconic Partners, the 414-000-square-foot structure will yield 170 affordable housing units, 70,000 square feet of Class A office space, and 110,000 square feet of retail area including a Target and a 28,000-square-foot Trader Joe’s on the ground floor. The development will serve as the home for the National Urban League and the Urban Civil Rights Experience Museum. Congress Builders is the general contractor for the property, which is located between West 126th Street to the north, 125th Street to the south, Malcolm X Boulevard to the east, and Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard to the west.
A colorful new gateway has been completed at the entrance of Marsha P. Johnson State Park in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Located at the park’s Kent Avenue and North Eighth Street entrance, the gateway cost approximately $2.3 million to complete and is the culmination of a multi-phase revitalization project.
