The Paradox Museum has opened its doors at New Jersey’s American Dream Mall in East Rutherford. Completed by JRM Construction Management with architect Mancini Duffy, the 11,000-square-foot facility features more than 70 interactive digital and immersive exhibits for both children and adults.
A $44 million project to protect the Montauk Point Lighthouse and the deteriorating bluff surrounding the historic landmark in Suffolk County is now complete. The structure is located on the easternmost point of Long Island and was authorized in 1792 by the Second Congress under President George Washington and completed in November 1796.
Construction is progressing on The Studio Museum of Harlem, a new six-story home for the cultural institution at 144 West 125th Street in Harlem, Manhattan. Designed by Sir David Adjaye of Adjaye Associates with Cooper Robertson & Partners as the architect of record, the 82,000-square-foot structure will feature expanded gallery and exhibition space for more than 2,000 objects, multiple lecture halls, a roof deck, a café, and retail space. Sciame Construction LLC and McKissack & McKissack are the construction managers for the property, which is situated on an interior lot between Malcolm X Boulevard to the east and Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard to the west.
Work is wrapping up on The New York Korea Center, the new seven-story home of the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea at 122-126 East 32nd Street in Murray Hill. Designed by Samoo Architects and Engineers (SAMOO) and developed by Level Group, the 120-foot-tall structure will yield 36,500 square feet and is engineered to achieve LEED Certification. KSK Construction Group is the general contractor for the property, which is located on an interior lot between Park Avenue South and Lexington Avenue.
Construction is in full swing for Ray Harlem at 2033 Fifth Avenue in the Special Arts District in East Harlem, Manhattan. Designed by Handel Architects and Frida Escobedo, and developed by Ray and LMXD, the ground-up 21-story, 240-foot-tall mixed-use project will yield 222 rental units in the main tower ranging from studios to two-bedrooms, a portion of which are designated towards affordable housing, while the National Black Theatre (NBT) is expected to occupy 25,000 square feet of space on the ground floor, cellar level and floors three through five and feature a 250-seat flexible temple space and a 99-seat studio theater, classrooms, and offices. Little Wing Lee is the interior designer, Charcoalblue, Marvel Architects, and Studio & Projects are overseeing the theater aspect and Chatsworth Builders is listed at the general contractor for the property, which is located along Fifth Avenue between East 125th and East 126th Streets.
