One Liberty Plaza Unveils Lobby Art Installation At 165 Broadway In Financial District, Manhattan

Brookfield Properties has unveiled a new art installation by artist Pierre Huyghe at One Liberty Plaza, a 54-story, 2.3-million-square-foot office skyscraper at 165 Broadway in Manhattan’s Financial District. The centerpiece of the building’s reimagined double-height lobby is A::Light, an interactive ceiling-based artwork that functions as a playable video game. The installation was presented in collaboration with Fine Art Concepts, LLC, with Huyghe represented by Marian Goodman Gallery, and lobby interiors by Gachot Studios.

GDSNY Reveals New Lobby Design at One Saint Mark’s Place in Manhattan’s East Village

Renderings have been revealed for the GDSNY-designed lobby at One St Marks, a nine-story office building originally designed by Morris Adjmi Architects at 1 St. Marks Place in Manhattan’s East Village. Developed by Real Estate Equities Corporation, the structure yields 49,194 square feet of office space. The project also includes expansive wraparound terraces on levels five, six, and nine, and 7,776 square feet of retail space on the ground floor and cellar level. The property is alternately addressed as 3 St. Mark’s Place and located at the northeast corner of Third Avenue.

343 Madison Avenue Secures Long-term Tenant In Midtown, Manhattan

Starr Insurance Companies has signed a 20-year lease to occupy approximately 275,000 square feet at 343 Madison Avenue, a 46-story commercial skyscraper under construction in Midtown East, Manhattan. Designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox and developed by BXP, the 844-foot-tall structure will yield 930,000 square feet of office space. Starr will relocate its headquarters to floors 16 through 27 in the tower. The property is located between East 44th and 45th Streets.

5 Times Square Begins 1,250-Unit Office-to-Residential Conversion in Midtown, Manhattan

Work is underway on the office-to-residential conversion of 5 Times Square, a 38-story skyscraper in Midtown, Manhattan. Designed by Gensler and developed by RXR Realty, Apollo Global Management, and SL Green, the project will transform the 575-foot-tall structure’s 917,745 square feet of vacant office space into 1,250 rental units. Of this total, 313 will be permanently affordable for residents earning up to 80 percent of area median income (AMI). The property is located along Seventh Avenue between West 41st and 42nd Streets.
