32 Oakland Avenue Approaches Topping Out in Jersey City

Construction is nearing topping out on 32 Oakland Avenue, a 15-story residential building in Jersey City, New Jersey. Designed by Michels & Waldron Associates, the 446,917-square-foot structure will yield 297 residential units and 58,266 square feet of office space spread over two floors, as well as an automated parking garage with a capacity of 181 vehicles. The property is rising from a large plot at the corner of Oakland Avenue and Washburn Street.

26 Van Reipen Avenue’s Superstructure Rises in Jersey City

Construction is rising on 26 Van Reipen Avenue, a 27-story residential tower in Jersey City‘s seven-building, 2.1-million-square-foot Homestead Place master plan. Designed by C3D Architecture and developed by Nambar Group, the 315-foot-tall structure will yield 235 rental apartments in studio to three-bedroom layouts. The property will also feature ground-floor retail, office space on the third floor, and a swimming pool. The development is located at the intersection of Van Reipen Avenue and Homestead Place.

Jersey City Planning Board Approved 196-Unit Residential Building at 96 Tonnele Avenue in Journal Square

The Jersey City Planning Board has approved proposals to construct a new mixed-use property with 196 rental units and a large retail component at 96 Tonnele Avenue. Located in the city’s Journal Square neighborhood, 96 Tonnele Avenue is the latest project from developer RKS Group and Jorge Mastropietro Architects Atelier.

The Jersey City Redevelopment Agency is now reviewing proposals to construct West Side Crossing, a four-tower complex with more than 3,000 residential units. Located on an eight-acre assemblage near the Hackensack riverfront, West Side Crossing is the latest project from Bushburg Properties, which appointed Marchetto Higgins Stieve as architect of record.

Jersey City Officials Reveal Plans to Expand Fairmount Square Park

Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop and the Jersey City Parks Coalition have revealed plans to expand the city’s Fairmount Square Park to create a new outdoor destination for Bergen-Lafayette residents. The expansion was made possible by the acquisition of an auto body storage lot, which cost the city $275,000.

Rendering Revealed, Ground Broken for BelovED Community Charter School in Jersey City

Last week, ground was broken on the site of a new Jersey City school. BelovED Community Charter School is building a new middle school at 535 Grand Street. The organization, currently serving 960 students, is named to honor Martin Luther King Jr.’s vision for a “Beloved Community.” New Jersey Community Capital and Provident Bank have given $12.5 million for construction financing of the project. Friends 2 and Hollister Construction Services are responsible for the development.

Renderings Revealed as Ground Broken for 100 Monitor Street, Jersey City

Last week saw the groundbreaking ceremony for a 309-unit mixed-use building rising on a 2.7-acre vacant lot at 100 Monitor Street, in Jersey City’s Lafayette neighborhood. The project will include 304 apartments, along with an 8,000 square-foot office for the Jersey City redevelopment agency and a 3,800 square-foot retail space. Ironstate Development Company will be responsible for the development, as well as their joint venture partners Brookfield Property Group and Landmark Developers.

New Renderings for 485 Marin Boulevard in Jersey City as Leasing Readies for Launch

Jersey City’s ongoing development boom has chiefly been focused along the waterfront, but the tendrils of new construction have also started to wrap their way across increasingly distant swaths of the city, including 485 Marin Boulevard, in Hamilton Park. There, HWKN has designed an 18-story and 397-unit rental development for KRE Group, which is now almost complete.

16-Story Project Revealed at 711 Montgomery Street, Jersey City

711 Montgomery Street in Jersey City has sold to Sequoia Development Group for an undisclosed amount. The sellers, Florida-based Rescore Montgomery LLC, had purchased the site in April 2015 for $4.5 million. Sequoia Development Group joined a partnership with Grid Real Estate to work on the development. The 16-story project is expected to yield 309 apartments, and today YIMBY has the first look at renderings.

Ground Broken, Renderings Revealed for 136 Summit Avenue, Bergen Hill, Jersey City

Groundbreaking has officially occurred for 136 Summit Avenue, a nine-story mixed-use building coming to Jersey City, New Jersey. The site is located a mile away from the Journal Square Train Station, serviced by the PATH trains. Monticello Equities is responsible for the development, and purchased the property from GRID Real Estate LLC. GRID is still involved, working as advisors and entitlement managers.
