Rafael Viñoly, OLIN To Design Pier 26 Estuarium & Park Space, Tribeca

The Hudson River Park Trust plans to redevelop the vacant Pier 26 in Tribeca, between North Moore and Laight Streets, into a science center and park space, according to The New York Times. Last week, it was announced that Rafael Viñoly will be designing the education and research facility, and OLIN will be the landscape designer. The $30 million project is being equally funded by Citigroup, the City, and, pending request, the LMDC. Completion is expected by early 2019.

Work Nears Finish Line at 5 Franklin Place in Tribeca

The development saga at 5 Franklin Place is finally reaching its conclusion, and since YIMBY’s last update on the project from September of 2014, progress has been significant. The latest photos from Tectonic show that cladding and window installation are both complete, although interior work appears to be ongoing. The site had several conceptual designs before it was acquired by El Ad Group after the recession, and ODA designed the final product, which stands 20 stories tall and has 53 condominiums.

11 Beach Street

10-Story, 27-Unit Residential Conversion At 11 Beach Street Over 50% Sold, Tribeca

Towards the end of last summer, the office-to-residential conversion of a 10-story building at 11 Beach Street, in Tribeca, was well underway. Now, YIMBY can share some additional renderings of the project, which has hit the 50% sold mark. The building’s 27 condominiums range from three to five bedrooms, and Thomas Juul-Hansen is designing the interiors. Amenities include a fitness center, children’s playroom, and a rooftop garden. HFZ Capital Group is developing, BKSK Architects is the design architect, and completion is expected in 2016.
