249 East 50th Street’s Exterior Continues to Take Shape in Turtle Bay, Manhattan

Façade installation is continuing on 249 East 50th Street, a 15-story residential building in the Midtown East neighborhood of  Turtle Bay. Designed by Issac & Stern Architects and developed by Tun Kyaw, the 151-foot-tall structure will yield 29 condominium units spread across 50,000 square feet, for an average of 1,700 square feet each. 249 East 50th Street is located near the corner of East 50th Street and Second Avenue.

The Central At 5th Completes Construction at 12 East 48th Street in Midtown East, Manhattan

Construction is wrapping up on The Central at 5th, a 367-foot-tall Hilton Grand Vacation Hotel at 12 East 48th Street in Midtown East. Designed by Handel Architects and developed by Hidrock Realty, the 31-story structure will yield 161 rooms across 125,000 square feet. DeSimone Consulting Engineers is the structural engineer, The Rinaldi Group is the general contractor, and IBA Consulting & Engineering, PLLC is the envelope consultant for the building, which is located between Madison Avenue to the east and Fifth Avenue to the west.

First Glimpses of Summit One Vanderbilt, Highest Observatory in Manhattan’s Midtown East

Yesterday SL Green Realty Corp. unveiled their plans for Summit One Vanderbilt, the new observatory space located in the crown of One Vanderbilt, a 1,401-foot-tall commercial supertall in Midtown East. Opening on October 21st, the 65,000-square-foot experience center will top the 77-story skyscraper designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox and deliver views of all five boroughs. One Vanderbilt encompasses an entire block immediately to the west of Grand Central Terminal with Summit One Vanderbilt directly connected directly to the massive transit hub. Interiors of Summit One Vanderbilt are designed by Snøhetta with art installations by Kenzo Digital.
