New Details For 62-Story Multi-Tower Block 675 Redevelopment, Hudson Yards

Back in June, YIMBY reported on progress for the Block 675 Redevelopment, just to the southwest of Related’s Hudson Yards supertalls. The site sits on the corner of 30th Street and 11th Avenue, and there, Douglaston Development and Lalezarian Properties want to use air rights transferred from Chelsea Piers via the Special Hudson River Park District to build over 1,200 apartments. Now, we have some fresh renderings, a clearer look at Tower B, and the latest figures for the still-growing proposal, which consists of two towers being designed by FXFOWLE and Ismael Leyva Architects.

Related’s towers rising over the Eastern Railyards as part of the Hudson Yards redevelopment have been well over a decade in the making, but one block to the north, progress has been substantially faster on the redevelopment of the southwest corner of 34th Street and 10th Avenue. YIMBY previously reported that Mitsui Fudosan took a 90% ownership stake from Related as of early September, and now, excavation is underway.

Construction Officially Begins on Redesigned 3 Hudson Boulevard, Hudson Yards

Renderings from FXFOWLE in recent months have pictured plans for The Moinian Group’s 3 Hudson Boulevard both with and without a spire. But now, plans for the project have seen a complete redesign, and ground has officially been broken on the 53-story and 940-foot-tall tower.

But the last time we looked at progress at the Diller Scofidio + Renfro-designed Fifteen Hudson Yards, it was back in December of 2016, when it was at its eighth floor. Now, eleven months later, work is approaching the upper floors of the soon-to-be 70-story tower, which is being developed by Related Companies and Oxford Properties Group.

First Filings Submitted for Manhattan West’s Second Office Tower Show Height Decrease, Hudson Yards

Today, the first filings have appeared for the site’s second office tower, which will sit on the northwest corner of 31st Street and Ninth Avenue, and has evidently seen a moderate height chop.

The past few weeks have brought substantial news surrounding the various supertalls coming to Hudson Yards, including 3 Hudson Boulevard, and 50 Hudson Yards. While both of those projects are still in their early stages of development, 30 Hudson Yards is now taking its place as the flagship tower of the new neighborhood, having surpassed its sibling 10 Hudson Yards’ 895-foot-tall peak, on the way to an eventual 1,296-foot pinnacle.

With activity making headway at several of the supertalls that will eventually comprise Hudson Yards, it should come as no surprise that progress is also occurring at The Moinian Group’s 3 Hudson Boulevard, where FX Fowle has designed a building that will rise approximately 1,050 feet to its rooftop. While Moinian has said plans for the tower are still being finalized, additional renderings of the spired version have again appeared thanks to its architect, and construction at the site also appears to have begun.

Last week, YIMBY revealed a few new renderings for Related’s behemoth office tower 50 Hudson Yards, which is set to rise on the southwest corner of 34th Street and 10th Avenue. While partial permits have already been filed, it appears that the entire tower will imminently be moving forward, with an announcement yesterday on the Nikkei that Mitsui Fudosan would take a 90% stake in the project, which is valued at $3.6 billion.

A few weeks ago, YIMBY featured a fresh rendering for the Moinian Group’s 3 Hudson Boulevard, which is set to rise on the northeast corner of 34th Street and 11th Avenue. Now, new images of the supertall have been released, and while they paint a clearer picture of what the tower itself will look like, clues left by Photoshop indicate that there still may be a surprise at the very top of the FXFOWLE-designed structure.
