450 Eleventh Avenue’s Façade Installation Resumes in Hudson Yards, Manhattan

Façade work has resumed on 450 Eleventh Avenue, a 51-story Aloft Hotel in Hudson Yards. Designed by Moshe Tzur Architects and DSM Design Group and developed by Marx Development Group, the 642-foot-tall skyscraper will yield 379 guest rooms as well as a business center, a ballroom, and a fourth-floor restaurant and bar with an outdoor terrace overlooking the transforming neighborhood. Atria Builders is the general contractor for the property, which is located at the corner of West 37th Street and Eleventh Avenue, directly across from the Jacob K. Javits Center.

HSBC Relocates US Headquarters to The Spiral at 66 Hudson Boulevard in Hudson Yards, Manhattan

HSBC is the latest company to relocate its core business operations to The Spiral, a 65-story supertall office skyscraper in Midtown West, Manhattan. Located at 66 Hudson Boulevard within the Hudson Yards district and mega-complex, the tower is designed by Bjarke Ingels Group and developed by Tishman Speyer.

50 Hudson Yards Nears Completion in Hudson Yards, Manhattan

Construction is nearing completion on 50 Hudson Yards, a 58-story commercial supertall in Hudson Yards. Designed by Foster + Partners and developed by Related Companies and Oxford Properties, the 1,011-foot-tall skyscraper will yield 2.9 million square feet of office space, making it the largest building by volume in the first phase of Related’s Hudson Yards complex. ArcelorMittal provided the steel, Langan Engineering is the civil and environmental engineer, and WSP is the structural and MEP engineer for the project, which occupies a full-block parcel bound by West 34th Street to the north, Tenth Avenue to the east, West 33rd Street to the south, and Hudson Boulevard to the west.

451 Tenth Avenue’s Terracotta Façade Installation Continues in Hudson Yards, Manhattan

Façade installation is continuing on 451 Tenth Avenue, a 45-story residential skyscraper in Hudson Yards. Designed by Handel Architects, developed and constructed by Related Companies, and co-developed with Spitzer Enterprises, the 587-foot-tall structure will also include a restaurant, an Equinox fitness center, and a senior living facility by Atria Senior Living called Coterie Hudson Yards. The market-rate rental units will have access to amenities such as a movie theater, an outdoor swimming pool, and terrace. March and White Design (MAWD) is serving as the interior designer for the senior homes at 451 Tenth Avenue, which rises from a 17,280-square-foot L-shaped plot at the corner of Tenth Avenue and West 35th Street. The property is a short walk to the 7 train at the 34th Street-Hudson Yards subway station, while a little further east are the A, C, E, 1, 2, and 3 and the NJ Transit and Amtrak trains beneath Pennsylvania Station.

606 West 30th Street Climbs Above Podium Levels in Hudson Yards, Midtown

Construction is rising on 606 West 30th Street, a 42-story residential skyscraper in Hudson Yards. Designed by Ismael Leyva Architects and developed by Lalezarian Properties, the 545-foot-tall structure will yield 312,350 square feet, with 192,780 square feet of residential space and 14,240 square feet of commercial space. Highbury Concrete is pouring the concrete and Hudson 37 LLC is listed as the general contractor for the project, which is also known as Tower B in a two-skyscraper development alongside FXCollaborative and Douglaston Development‘s topped-out 601 West 29th Street. The property is located between Eleventh Avenue and West Street, near the border with West Chelsea.

SOM’s Two Manhattan West Officially Tops Out 935 Feet Above Midtown West, Manhattan

Two Manhattan West, a 58-story commercial tower, has officially topped out in Midtown West. Designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, the 935-foot-tall, 2-million-square-foot skyscraper is the final component in Brookfield Properties’ five-building Manhattan West complex, and stands directly to the south of its 996-foot-tall fraternal twin, One Manhattan West.

The Spiral Nears Completion at 66 Hudson Boulevard in Hudson Yards, Manhattan

Curtain wall installation is wrapping up on The Spiral, a 1,041-foot commercial supertall at 66 Hudson Boulevard in Hudson Yards and number nine on our construction countdown. Designed by Bjarke Ingels Group and developed by Tishman Speyer, the 66-story structure will yield 2.85 million square feet of office space and is expected to cost nearly $3.7 billion. Turner Construction Company is the general contractor, Banker Steel provided the steel work, and Permasteelisa is serving as the contractor for the reflective floor-to-ceiling glass enclosure for the property, which takes up a full city block between Tenth and Eleventh Avenues and 34th and 35th Streets.

601 West 29th Street Nears Completion in Hudson Yards, Manhattan

Façade work is nearing completion on 601 West 29th Street, a 695-foot-tall residential skyscraper in Hudson Yards and number 19 on our year-end construction countdown. Designed by FXCollaborative and developed by Douglaston Development, the 60-story structure is also known as “Tower A” in a two-building development alongside 606 West 30th Street, which has yet to begin rising over Midtown, Manhattan. 601 West 29th Street will yield 703 market-rate and 235 affordable housing residences, 50,000 square feet of amenity space, and 15,000 square feet of retail space. Levine Builders is constructing the property, which is bound by Eleventh Avenue to the east, West 29th Street to the south, and West 30th Street to the north.

Designed by Moshe Tzur Architects and DSM Design Group and developed by Marx Development Group, the slender 51-story reinforced concrete skyscraper will yield 379 guest rooms as well as a business center, a ballroom, and a fourth-floor restaurant and bar with an outdoor terrace overlooking the growing neighborhood. Atria Builders LLC is the general contractor for the Midtown, Manhattan property, which is located at the corner of West 37th Street and Eleventh Avenue, directly across from the Jacob K. Javits Center. The total construction cost is expected to be around $368 million.
