TSX Broadway’s Tempo by Hilton Prepares For Late-Summer Opening at 1568 Broadway in Times Square, Manhattan

Construction on TSX Broadway, a 47-story hotel tower at 1568 Broadway in Times Square, reached a milestone as crews turned on TSX Entertainment’s 18,000-square-foot podium LED display. Designed by Perkins Eastman and Mancini Duffy and developed by L&L Holding Company and Fortress Investment Group, the 550,000-square-foot structure will yield 661 hotel rooms operated by Tempo by Hilton, as well as 100,000 square feet of retail space on the lower levels and Times Square’s only cantilevering outdoor performance stage. Positioned above the new retail space is the historic Palace Theater, which was renovated by PBDW Architects and lifted 30 feet above street level in early 2022. Pavarini McGovern is the general contractor for the property, which is located at the corner of Seventh Avenue and West 47th Street.

Inaugural Season Announced For Perelman Performing Arts Center in Financial District, Manhattan

Finishing touches are underway on the Perelman Performing Arts Center, a 138-foot-tall cubic structure in the 16-acre World Trade Center site in the Financial District. Designed by REX with Davis Brody Bond Architects as the executive architect and developed by The Perelman, the property will feature three performance spaces: the 450-seat John E. Zuccotti Theater, the 250-seat Mike Nichols Theater, and the 99-seat Doris Duke Foundation Theater. The halls can also be combined into a single 950-seat auditorium. The property is bound by Vesey Street to the north, Fulton Street to the south, Greenwich Street to the east, and Skidmore Owings & Merrill‘s One World Trade Center to the west.

Designed by REX with Davis Brody Bond Architects as the executive architect and developed by The Perelman, the 138-foot-tall marble-clad structure is bound by Vesey Street to the north, Fulton Street to the south, Greenwich Street to the east, and Skidmore Owings & Merrill‘s One World Trade Center to the west.

Three New York City Sites Nominated for the New York State and National Registers of Historic Places

New York Governor Kathy Hochul has announced that two properties and an entire neighborhood in New York City have been nominated for inclusion in State and National Registers of Historic Places. The nominees are the English Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Reformation in Cypress Hills, Brooklyn, the Temple Israel of the City of New York on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, and a bid to recognize the Prospect Lefferts Gardens Historic District, also in Brooklyn.
