Construction is nearing completion on Society Brooklyn and Sackett Place, a pair of 21-story residential buildings at 267 Bond Street and 498 Sackett Street in Gowanus, Brooklyn. Designed by SLCE Architects and developed by Property Markets Group, the 225-foot-tall structures span 605,000 square feet and will yield 517 residential units, as well as 52,000 square feet of commercial space. Twenty-five percent of the apartments will be reserved for affordable housing. The property is bound by DeGraw Street to the north, Sackett Street to the south, the Gowanus Canal to the east, and Bond Street to the west.

Demolition Complete For Expansion of White Plains Hospital in White Plains, New York

Demolition is complete for a new ten-story expansion of White Plains Hospital at 41 East Post Road in White Plains, New York. Designed by Boston-based Payette, the 475,000-square-foot project will rise from the site of a former multistory parking garage and will increase the hospital’s bed capacity from 292 to 436. The expansion will also add ten more operating suites and more than double the size of the Emergency Department by 25,000 square feet. The site is bound by East Post Road to the north, Maple Street to the south, Davis Road to the east, and South Lexington Avenue to the west.

Request For Proposals Issued For 600-Foot High “Gansevoort Square” Residential Tower in Meatpacking District, Manhattan

In late January, the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) on behalf of the City of New York released a Request For Proposals (RFP) for a nearly 600-foot-tall, 60-story residential skyscraper at 832 Washington Street in the Meatpacking District of Manhattan. The City is planning to redevelop the public land to create 600 homes alongside an expansion of the adjacent Whitney Museum and the maintenance and operations (M&O) space for the High Line, and new ground-floor retail space. The 10,000-square-foot site for the new tower is part of the Gansevoort Square master plan which is bound by Little West 12th Street to the north; the Whitney Museum and Gansevoort Street to the south; Washington Street to the east; and 10th Avenue, West Street, and the Hudson River to the west.
