Review Process Underway for 143-151 Woodworth Avenue in Yonkers, New York

A proposed two-tower residential development may soon become a reality at 143-151 Woodworth Avenue in Yonkers, New York. Designed by INOA Architecture and developed by TCP Realty LLC, the proposed complex recently went through the Zoning Board of Appeals last Wednesday evening at Yonkers City Hall, and is currently under review. The master plan calls for two 32-story structures standing 372 feet tall and  yielding approximately 672 units. The site is located along Woodworth Avenue on an interior lot between Lamartine Avenue to the north and Babcock Place to the south.

Renderings Revealed for The Cube at 42-53 24th Street in Long Island City, Queens.

Renderings have been revealed for The Cube, a 14-story residential building planned for 42-53 24th Street in downtown Long Island City, Queens. Designed by MY Architect PC and developed by Chris Jiashu Xu of United Construction & Development, the structure will yield 217 condominium units, ground-floor retail space, and enclosed parking. The site is located at the northeast corner of 24th Street and 43rd Avenue.

Updated Renderings Showcase SOM’s $700 Million New York Climate Exchange on Governors Island

Updated renderings have been revealed for the New York Climate Exchange, an environmental research facility and climate solutions center planned for Governors Island in New York Harbor. Designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill in collaboration with MNLA, Buro Happold, and Langan Engineering, the $700 million project will consist of a 400,000-square-foot research and education hub anchored by Stony Brook University. The complex’s two all-electric buildings will be connected by a distinctive photovoltaic canopy and will use sustainable mass timber as their primary structural material. The development site is generally bound by Craig Road South along the waterfront, the Oval green lawn and West Way to the west, and several historical landmark buildings to the north above Division Road.

63-Story Skyscraper Revealed for Second Phase of Alloy Block in Downtown Brooklyn

Designer and developer Alloy Development has revealed new renderings for One Third Avenue, a 63-story skyscraper in the second phase of the Alloy Block complex in Downtown Brooklyn. The 725-foot-tall structure will rise to the northwest of the completed 44-story Alloy Block tower at 505 State Street and will secure the title of the tallest Passive House-engineered building in the world. The building will yield 583 market-rate and affordable housing units, retail space, and commercial office space. The Alloy Block is bound by Flatbush Avenue to the northeast, Third Avenue to the northwest, and State Street to the south.
