At number 15 on our year-end countdown of the tallest construction projects in New York is The Brook, a 601-foot-tall residential skyscraper at 589 Fulton Street in Downtown Brooklyn. Designed by Beyer Blinder Belle and developed by Witkoff Group and Apollo Global Management, the 51-story structure will span 557,973 square feet and yield 591 rental units with an average scope of 827 square feet, as well as 68,693 square feet of retail space, a cellar level, and two floors of recreational and sports amenities. Thirty percent of the units will be reserved for affordable housing. The property is bound by DeKalb Avenue to the north, Fulton Street to the south, Flatbush Avenue diagonally to the east, and Bond Street to the west.

Stern Architects with Hill West Architects as the architect of record and developed by Naftali Group, the 36-story structure will span 170,481 square feet and yield 62 condominium units in two- to five-bedrooms layouts, as well as 3,861 square feet of retail space, two cellar levels, and 33 enclosed parking spaces. The property is alternately addressed as 1481 Second Avenue and located at the corner of Second Avenue and East 77th Street.

The 21st-tallest building on YIMBY’s year-end construction countdown is the Xadia Hotel, a 475-foot-tall hotel tower at 58 West 39th Street in Midtown, Manhattan. Designed by Marin Architects and developed by Wei Hong Hu under the H Hotel LLC, the 42-story structure will yield 173 guest rooms and amenities including a restaurant, an arcade, and a rooftop bar. The project is located on a narrow interior plot between Fifth and Sixth Avenues, one block south of Bryant Park.
