Foundations Underway for Three-Tower Development at 2-20 and 2-21 Malt Drive in Hunters Point, Queens

Excavation and foundation work are progressing at 2-20 and 2-21 Malt Drive, the site of a three-tower mixed-use complex in the Hunters Point South master plan in Hunters Point, Queens. Designed by SLCE Architects and developed by TF Cornerstone, the project consists of a 34-story, 390-foot-tall structure yielding 575 units at 2-20 Malt Drive and a two-tower development at 2-21 Malt Dive with a 38-story, 440-foot-tall high-rise and 25-story, 310-foot-tall sibling. The unit count for 2-21 Malt Drive has not been disclosed. Bud North LLC and Bud South LLC are the contractors for 2-21 and 2-20 Malt Creek, respectively, which will rise from a subdivided plot bound by 54th Avenue to the north, Newton Creek to the south, and 2nd Street to the west.

Gotham Point North Tower’s Façade Nears Completion in Hunters Point South, Queens

Façade work is nearing completion on Gotham Point North Tower, a 57-story residential skyscraper at 1-15 57th Avenue in Hunters Point South, Queens. Designed by Handel Architects and developed by Gotham Organization and Riseboro Community Partnership, the 559-foot-tall structure is also known as Parcel F in a two-tower development along with the adjacent Parcel G, and will yield 692 units. The building rises from a plot bound by Center Boulevard to the north, 56th Avenue to the east, and 57th Avenue to the west.

Foundations Progress at 27-20 42nd Road, aka Project Athena, in Hunters Point, Queens

Foundation work is progressing at Project Athena LIC, at 27-20 42nd Road in the Hunter’s Point section of Long Island City, Queens. This will eventually give rise to a ground up eight-story mixed-use residential building designed by Ismael Leyva Architects. YIMBY last reported that the 99-foot-tall development will yield a total of 58,580 square feet, with 36,097 square feet designated for future residential space and 3,345 square feet for the commercial space. 51 residences are expected to be housed inside the edifice, which will most likely be rentals based on the average unit size of 707 square feet. The reinforced concrete-based structure will also come with a cellar and a 50-foot-long rear yard for occupants.

Parcel F’s Brick Façade Nears Completion in Hunters Point South, Queens

Façade installation is getting close to completion on Parcel F, a 57-story residential skyscraper in the two-tower Gotham Point development in Hunters Point South, Queens. Designed by Handel Architects and developed by The Gotham Organization, RiseBoro Community Partnership, Goldman Sachs Urban Investment Group, and the Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD), the 559-foot-tall tower stands adjacent to Parcel G, its 33-story, 443-foot-tall sibling. Together, the buildings will yield 1,132 rental apartments, of which 75 percent will be dedicated to affordable housing with age-restricted homes for seniors, as well as a 1,100-seat Intermediate High School built by the School Construction Authority and a 5-acre waterfront park constructed by New York City’s Economic Development Corporation. Handel Architects is the interior designer and BHDM was responsible for the model apartment interiors for the property, which is bound by Center Boulevard to the north, 56th Avenue to the east, and 57th Avenue to the west.

52-03 Center Boulevard’s Exterior Nears Completion in Hunters Point South, Queens

Number 27 on YIMBY’s construction countdown is 52-03 Center Boulevard, a 587-foot-tall, 56-story residential skyscraper in the two-tower Hunter’s Point South complex. Developer TF Cornerstone recently held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the master plan, which is designed by ODA Architects with SLCE Architects as the architect of record and includes the 46-story, 475-foot-tall 52-41 Center Boulevard. The mixed-use property sits along the East River and is bound by Center Boulevard to the west, Borden Avenue to the north, 2nd Street to the east, and 54th Avenue to the south.

TF Cornerstone Completes 1,194-Unit Residential Complex in Hunter’s Point South, Queens

TF Cornerstone has completed its dual-tower residential complex at 52-03 and 52-41 Center Boulevard in Hunter’s Point, Queens. Together, the buildings comprise 1,194 rental units including 719 permanently affordable home, a 150-vehicle parking garage, and a 7,700-square-floor community center.

Designed by Handel Architects and developed by The Gotham Organization, RiseBoro Community Partnership, Goldman Sachs Urban Investment Group, and the Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD), the 57-story structure stands alongside its 33-story, 443-foot-tall sibling Parcel G, collectively yielding over 1 million square feet and 1,132 rental apartments. Of these, 75 percent will debut as affordable housing and age-restricted homes for seniors. The development is bound by Center Boulevard to the north, 56th Avenue to the east, and 57th Avenue to the west, and also features a five-acre waterfront park constructed by New York City’s Economic Development Corporation and a 1,100-seat Intermediate High School built by the School Construction Authority. Fetner Properties and Lions Group have closed on a $95 million construction loan to complete a new high-rise residential tower at 27-01 Jackson Avenue in Long Island City, Queens. Designed by SLCE Architects, the building will top out at 27 stories and comprise just over 151,000 square feet.

Gotham Point is located at the confluence of the East River and Newtown Creek, bound by Center Boulevard to the north, 56th Avenue to the east, and 57th Avenue to the west. Handel Architects is also the interior designer while BHDM did the interior for the model apartment only.
