10-04 Borden Avenue Wraps Up Construction in Long Island City, Queens

Construction is finishing up on 10-04 Borden Avenue, a three-story commercial building in Long Island City, Queens. Developed and built by The Vorea Group under the Borden Ave Opportunity Zone Business LLC, the 56,000-square-foot structure will feature New York City’s first iFLY indoor skydiving facility and a separate commercial space. The plot spans nearly half an acre by the three-way intersection of Borden Avenue, Vernon Boulevard, and Jackson Avenue.

The Bold Nears Completion At 27-01 Jackson Avenue in Long Island City, Queens

Construction is finishing up on 27-01 Jackson Avenue, a 27-story residential tower in the Court Square district of Long Island City, Queens. Designed by SLCE Architects and developed by American Lions, a joint venture between Fetner Properties and Lions Group, the 151,141-square-foot structure will yield 164 rental units with one-third reserved for affordable housing, as well as ground-floor retail space and approximately 90 parking spaces on the first three levels. The property is located at the corner of Jackson and 43rd Avenues, directly across from The Italic, its taller sibling at 26-32 Jackson Avenue.

Jasper Stands Topped Out At 2-33 50th Avenue in Long Island City, Queens

Construction has topped out on Jasper, a 13-story residential building at 2-33 50th Avenue in the Hunters Point district of Long Island City, Queens. Designed by S9 Architecture and developed by The Domain Companies, LMXD, Bridge Investment Group, and The Vorea Group, the 125-foot-tall structure will span 550,000 square feet and yield 499 units in studio to three-bedroom layouts with 150 reserved for affordable housing, as well as 40,000 square feet of retail space, 503 square feet for a community facility under the Brownfield Award, 111 enclosed parking spaces, and a 30-foot-long rear yard. The $370 million project is alternately addressed as 49-20 5th Street and is bound by 49th Avenue to the north, 50th Avenue to the south, and 5th Street to the east.

Façade Installation Nears Pinnacle of 16 Dupont Street in Greenpoint, Brooklyn

Curtain wall installation has reached the final floors of 16 Dupont Street, a 40-story residential tower in Greenpoint, Brooklyn‘s 22-acre Greenpoint Landing master plan. Designed by GKV Architects and developed by Rockefeller Group and Park Tower Group, the 400-foot-tall structure will span 365,651 square feet and yield 381 rental units, with 115 reserved for affordable housing, as well as 2,548 square feet of ground-floor retail space and 138 enclosed parking spaces. The property is located at the intersection of Dupont, West, and Commercial Streets.

25-01 Queens Plaza North Tops Out in Long Island City, Queens

Construction has topped out on 25-01 Queens Plaza North, a 28-story residential building in Long Island City, Queens. Designed by Handel Architects and developed by Grubb Properties, which purchased the property for $63 million in 2021, the 311-foot-tall structure will yield 417 rental units with 124 reserved for affordable housing, as well as 7,000 square feet of ground-floor commercial space. The project is located between Crescent and 27th Streets, directly adjacent to the elevated Queensboro Plaza station serving the 7, N, and W trains.

The Nova Rises Toward Halfway Mark at 41-05 29th Street in Long Island City, Queens

Construction is rising rapidly on The Nova, a 24-story residential project at 41-05 29th Street in Long Island City, Queens. Designed by Fogarty Finger and developed by SB Development Group, the 290-foot-tall structure will yield 86 homes and ground-floor retail space on a triangular plot at the confluence of 29th Street and 41st Avenue. The developers recently secured a construction loan from SCALE Lending worth $55 million to complete the project.

Sven Wraps Up Construction at 29-37 41st Avenue in Long Island City, Queens

It looks like construction is coming to a close on Sven, a 762-foot-tall skyscraper at 29-37 41st Avenue and the second-tallest building in Long Island City, Queens. Also known as Queens Plaza Park, the 67-story tower is designed by Handel Architects for The Durst Organization and will yield 958 rental units with interiors designed by Selldorf Architects, including 300 units set aside as affordable housing. Hunter Roberts is the general contractor and Jaros, Baum & Bolles Engineering administered the mechanical systems for the project, which is bound by Northern Boulevard to the east, Queens Plaza North and Dutch Kills Green to the south, and 41st Avenue to the west.

Skyline Tower Completes Construction in Long Island City, Queens

Construction is now fully complete on Skyline Tower, the tallest skyscraper in Long Island City and all of Queens. Addressed as 23-15 44th Drive, the 68-story, 778-foot-tall edifice is designed by Hill West Architects and developed by United Construction & Development Group, FSA Capital, and Risland US Holdings LLC. Yielding 802 residences designed by Whitehall Interiors and marketed by Modern Spaces, residences range in price from $500,000 to $4 million. The site is located at the corner of 23rd Street to the west and 44th Drive to the south.

45-18 Court Square’s Restoration and Addition Approaches Completion in Long Island City, Queens

Façade work is progressing toward completion on the Innolabs life science facility at 45-18 Court Square in Long Island City, Queens. Designed by Perkins + Will and developed by King Street Properties, Newmark Knight Frank, and GFP Real Estate, the project involves the restoration of a central building and construction of a six-story addition in multiple wings. The property is located just south of Jackson Avenue between Court Square West and Pearson Street, a short walk from the Court Square subway station, servicing the 7, E, and G trains.

23-20 Jackson Avenue’s Scaffolding Begins Disassembly in Long Island City, Queens

Designed by KSQ Architects and developed by The Vorea Group, the project will yield 85,851 square feet with retail space, offices, and a 72-room hotel operated by San Francisco-based hotelier Sonder Corp. The property is located at the intersection of Jackson Avenue and Pearson Street.
