Construction recently broke ground on Petersen Commons, a three-story residential building at 1440 Rahway Avenue in the Avenel neighborhood of Woodbridge Township, New Jersey. Designed by Thriven Design and developed by Pennrose, the structure will yield 60 affordable units in one- to two-bedroom layouts for senior veterans 55 and older. The project will also include a superintendent’s residence. The property is located along County Road 514 between Randolph and Omar Avenues, directly south of the 101-unit Greens at Avenel affordable housing complex.

Construction is nearing completion on The Park at Fords Corner, a six-story residential building at 555 New Brunswick Avenue in Woodbridge Township, New Jersey. Designed by Thriven Design and developed by Green Pathway Urban Renewal LLC, the structure will yield 113 apartments, with 15 percent dedicated to affordable housing. The project will also include a ground-floor cafe. The 62,656-square-foot property is located at the corner of New Brunswick Avenue and Raymond Street, directly west of Green Oak Senior Housing, the first phase of the redevelopment.

The Jersey City Planning Board has approved plans for 792 Communipaw Avenue, a five-story residential building in the Bergen-Lafayette neighborhood of Jersey City, New Jersey. Designed by Studio A+M Architects and developed by Academy Capital, the 32,583-square-foot structure will yield 38 apartments, with four dedicated to affordable housing. The project will also include more than 2,000 square feet of ground-floor commercial space, with nearly 74 feet of frontage facing Communipaw Avenue. The 7,300-square-foot property is located by the corner of West Side Avenue.

New renderings have been revealed for 56 Park Place, a proposed 27-story residential building in Newark, New Jersey. Designed by MVMK Architecture and developed by the 56 Park Place LLC, the structure is planned to stand 285 feet tall. In addition to residential space, the project is planned to contain a ground-floor restaurant, a parking garage, and amenities on the third story and roof level. The property comprises two narrow interior lots between East Park Street and Center Street.

Renderings Revealed for Meadowlands Convention Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey

The Meadowlands Chamber recently unveiled renderings for the proposed four-story Meadowlands Convention Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Designed by TVS Design, the 460,000-square-foot facility is planned to include event and ballroom space, along with a 1,000-room hotel and a 6,000-seat arena. The $3 billion project would rise on the site of the existing Meadowlands Arena, formerly the Izod Center, directly between the American Dream Mall and Metlife Stadium.
