Viñoly-Designed 277 Fifth Avenue Officially Tops Out At 55 Floors and 663 Feet in NoMad

The Rafael Viñoly-designed 277 Fifth Avenue, in NoMad, has officially topped out. Our last look at the tower was on December 26th, 2017, when we were given a tour of the sales gallery and the 46th floor, which at that time, was the highest level. With the superstructure now spanning its full 55 stories, about twenty floors of cladding remain before the exterior is complete.

CetraRuddy-Designed 46-Story Tower Coming to 30 East 29th Street, NoMad

Permits have been filed for a 46-story residential tower at 30 East 29th Street in Midtown, Manhattan. The site is three blocks away from Madison Square Park. Two blocks away is the 28th Street Subway Station, serviced by the 6 train. Four blocks in the other direction is a homonymous station serviced by the Q and R trains. The Rockefeller Group will be responsible for the development.

New York YIMBY’s 2018 Construction Report: New Building Applications Finally Stabilize After Two Years of Massive Drops

Last year, YIMBY’s pipeline report showed a dramatic decrease in new building filings, with 2015’s multi-family count of 32,702 units falling precipitously, to 19,356 in 2016. Fortunately, the hemorrhaging of pipeline additions has nearly come to a complete stop, and 2017 saw filings for 19,180 multi-family units, a drop of under one percent. Exclusive First Look Inside Viñoly-Designed 277 Fifth Avenue, NoMad

Last week, YIMBY was the first media outlet to be given a tour of the sales gallery and construction site of the 55-story skyscraper at 277 Fifth Avenue, in Nomad, Manhattan, a project which we have reported on extensively over the past several years. Designed by Rafael Viñoly, the high-rise is currently on its 46th floor, with only nine to go before topping-out occurs. After a nerve-racking elevator ride outside of the building, we stepped out to what is currently its highest floor, which already offers expansive views of the New York City skyline.

Morris Adjmi-Designed 30 East 31st Street Climbing Quickly, Gets First Glass, Midtown South

Back in February of 2015, YIMBY reported on the initial new building applications for 30 East 31st Street, between Park and Madison Avenues, in Midtown South. In November of that year, we revealed the first rendering for the project. Since then, filings have been amended for a slight height increase of two floors, and construction has entered full swing, with the Morris Adjmi-designed skyscraper now up to its fourteenth floor per the latest photos from JC_Heights.
