1245 Broadway’s Concrete Superstructure Continues to Climb in NoMad

The reinforced concrete superstructure of 1245 Broadway, a 23-story office building from Skidmore Owings and Merrill, is steadily rising in NoMad. Co-developed by GDSNY and Sweden-based Klovern, the 318-foot-tall structure will bring 200,000 square feet of commercial space to the booming neighborhood. StructureTech NY and Triton Construction are in charge of construction, and CBRE began leasing the building’s class A office space in late 2019.

Work is continuing on The Fifth Avenue Hotel, an addition and renovation at 250 Fifth Avenue in NoMad. Designed by Perkins EastmanPBDW Architects, and Martin Brudnizki Design Studio and developed by Flaneur Hospitality, the project involves the construction of a 230-foot-tall, 24-story structure and the renovation and conversion of an adjacent 115-year-old bank building designed by McKim, Mead & White.

Excavation and pilings are progressing for Strata Tower, Bjarke Ingels Group‘s 34-story commercial office skyscraper at 3 West 29th Street in NoMad. Formerly known as 29th & 5th, the project is being developed by HFZ Capital Group and is slated to top out at 551 feet, making it one of the tallest structures in Midtown below the Empire State Building. Pavarini McGovern, LLC is the general contractor for the nearly 300,000-square-foot development.

Construction Reaches Top of 1245 Broadway’s Podium in NoMad

Construction has reached the top of the podium section at 1245 Broadway, a 23-story, 200,000-square-foot commercial office building NoMad. Workers from StructureTech NY and Triton Construction are continuing to tie the steel rebar and build the formwork for the reinforced concrete perimeter columns and floor slabs. Designed by Skidmore Owings and Merrill and co-developed by GDSNY and Sweden-based Klovern, the building will eventually top out at 318 feet tall. CBRE began leasing the building’s class A office space in late 2019.
