Madison House’s Retail Podium Nears Completion at 126 Madison Avenue in NoMad, Manhattan

Construction is finally coming to a close on Madison House, a 62-story residential skyscraper at 126 Madison Avenue in the Midtown, Manhattan district of NoMad. Designed by Handel Architects and developed by Fosun Group and JD Carlisle, the 805-foot-tall structure yields 199 condominiums with sales led by Douglas Elliman Development Marketing. The property is alternately addressed as 15 East 30th Street and rises from a plot bound by East 31st Street to the north, East 30th Street to the south, and Madison Avenue to the east.

LPC Approves 20-Story Redevelopment at 251-253 Fifth Avenue in NoMad, Manhattan

The Landmarks Preservation Commission has approved a large-scale redevelopment project at 251-253 Fifth Avenue in NoMad, Manhattan. Led by TRA Studio Architecture, the project entails the demolition of a low-rise building at 253 Fifth Avenue, the construction of a new 20-story tower in its place, the restoration of a neighboring building at 251 Fifth Avenue, and the integration of both buildings into a singular structure.

Foundation Work Underway for 262 Fifth Avenue Supertall in NoMad, Manhattan

Foundation work is continuing at 262 Fifth Avenue, the site of a 60-story residential supertall in NoMad, Manhattan. Designed by Meganom with SLCE Architects as the executive architect and developed by Boris Kuzinez of Five Points Development under the Five Points 262 Project LLC, the 1,043-foot-tall skyscraper will yield 41 residential units spread across 139,168 square feet, as well as 10,850 square feet of retail space on the first two floors. CM & Associates Construction Management is the general contractor for the property, which is located at the corner of Fifth Avenue and West 29th Street.

Ritz-Carlton Hotel Opens to Guests at 25 West 28th Street, in NoMad, Manhattan

The Ritz-Carlton Hotel and Residences at 25 West 28th Street recently celebrated its grand opening in NoMad. Designed by Rafael Vinoly and developed by Marriott, Ritz Carlton Hotels, and Flag Luxury Group, the 50-story, 500-foot-tall reinforced concrete skyscraper yields 250 guest rooms and 19 suites spread across 150,000 square feet, as well as 16 one- and two-bedroom penthouse residences on the upper levels that owners and their guests can stay in for up to 120 nights per year. Lendlease served the general contractor for the Midtown, Manhattan project, which is alternatively addressed as 1185 Broadway Street and is located at the corner of Broadway and West 28th Street. The Erin Boisson Aries team at Douglas Elliman is handling the sales of the penthouses. Other design teams for the Ritz-Carlton include SUSURUSS, Rockwell Group, and Barcelona-based studio Lázaro Rosa-Viola.

1162 Broadway Tops Out in NoMad, Manhattan

Construction has topped out on 1162 Broadway, a 13-story commercial building in NoMad. Designed by Morris Adjmi Architects and developed by 1162 Broadway LLC, 185-foot-tall structure will yield Class A office within the Madison Square North Historic District. The project has undergone several changes since permits were first filed by Aini Assets for a 14-story, 52-room hotel in December 2013. The latest plans were approved by the Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC) in the late spring of 2020, followed by groundbreaking in 2021. On Star Management is the general contractor for the property, which is located between West 27th and West 28th Streets.

Le Meridien Hotel Completes Construction at 292 Fifth Avenue in NoMad, Manhattan

Construction is complete on Le Meridien Hotel, a 21-story mixed-use tower at 292 Fifth Avenue in NoMad. Designed by Gene Kaufman Architect and developed by the McSam Hotel Group, which purchased the property for $42.4 million in March 2017, the structure yields 187 hotel rooms and an unspecified number of residential units on the upper levels. The development is located between West 30th and West 31st Streets.

Designed by Rafael Vinoly and developed by Marriott, Ritz Carlton Hotels, and Flag Luxury Properties, the 580-foot-tall reinforced concrete tower will yield 250 guest rooms spread across 150,000 square feet and 16 one- and two-bedroom penthouse residences on the upper levels. Lendlease is the general contractor for the project, which is located at the corner of Broadway and West 28th Street. The Erin Boisson Aries team at Christie’s International Real Estate is handling the sales of the penthouses.

Virgin Hotel’s Exterior Wraps Up at 1225 Broadway in NoMad, Manhattan

Exterior work is finishing up on the Virgin Hotel, a 38-story tower at 1225 Broadway in NoMad. Designed by Stantec and developed by Lam Group, the 476-foot-tall, 300,000-square-foot structure will contain 460 hotel rooms managed by Sir Richard Branson of Virgin Group. Flintlock Construction Systems, LLC is the general contractor for the property, which is bound by Broadway, West 29th Street, and West 30th Street.

1245 Broadway’s Exterior Wraps Up in NoMad, Manhattan

Exterior work is wrapping up on 1245 Broadway, a 23-story commercial building in NoMad. Designed by Skidmore Owings & Merrill and developed by GDSNY and Sweden-based Klövern AB, the 318-foot-tall reinforced concrete structure will yield 200,000 square feet of office space with marketing and leasing handled by CBRE. StructureTech NY and Triton Construction are both in charge of building the Midtown, Manhattan property, which stands at the corner of West 31st Street and Broadway, a short walk from Koreatown, Herald Square, and Madison Square Park.
