Construction is quickly taking shape on 262 Fifth Avenue, a 54-story residential skyscraper in NoMad, Manhattan. Designed by Meganom with SLCE Architects as the executive architect and developed by Boris Kuzinez of Five Points Development under the Five Points 262 Project LLC, the 860-foot-tall structure will yield 41 condominium units. GEA Consulting Engineers are the MEP engineer of record, and CM & Associates Construction Management is the general contractor for the property, which is located at the southwest corner of Fifth Avenue and West 29th Street.

1162 Broadway’s Exterior Progresses Slowly in NoMad, Manhattan

Exterior work continues on 1162 Broadway, a 13-story commercial building in the Madison Square North Historic District of NoMad. Designed by Morris Adjmi Architects and developed by 1162 Broadway LLC, the 185-foot-tall structure will yield Class A office space and 1,800 square feet for a restaurant on the ground floor and cellar level. On Star Management is the general contractor for the property, which is located between West 27th and 28th Streets.

Fifth Avenue Hotel Nears Completion at 1 West 28th Street in NoMad, Manhattan

Work is nearing completion on the Fifth Avenue Hotel at 1 West 28th Street in NoMad. Designed by Perkins Eastman, PBDW Architects, and Martin Brudnizki Design Studio and developed by Flaneur Hospitality, the project consists of a new 24-story, 230-foot-tall tower and the restoration and hotel conversion of the adjacent five-story McKim, Mead & White-designed structure. CNY Group is the general contractor for the property, which is alternatively addressed as 250 Fifth Avenue and is located at the northwest corner of Fifth Avenue and West 28th Street.

128 East 28th Street Stands Complete in NoMad, Manhattan

Construction has wrapped up on 128 East 28th Street, an eight-story residential building in NoMad, Manhattan. Designed by TRA Studio for Sinha Development, the 80-foot-tall structure spans 28,000 square feet and yields ten condominium units in two-bedroom to three-bedroom penthouse layouts, as well as ground-floor retail space marketed by Newmark. ES Builders Group was the general contractor for the project, which is located between Lexington Avenue and Park Avenue South. Douglas Elliman Development Marketing Group is handling sales and marketing for the residential component.

Virgin Hotel Prepares for Grand Opening at 1227 Broadway in NoMad, Manhattan

Number 30 on our year-end countdown of the tallest projects underway in the city is the Virgin Hotel New York City, a 38-story hotel tower at 1227 Broadway in NoMad. Designed by Stantec and developed by Lam Group, the 476-foot-tall structure yields 460 boutique guest rooms managed by Sir Richard Branson of Virgin Group. Flintlock Construction Systems was the general contractor for the property, which is located along Broadway between West 29th and West 30th Streets.

KPF to Redesign Stalled Office Skyscraper at 3 West 29th Street in NoMad, Manhattan

The final building on YIMBY’s Turkey Week rundown of stalled projects is 3 West 29th Street, a 34-story commercial skyscraper in NoMad. Originally designed by Bjarke Ingels Group and developed by HFZ Capital Group, the structure was planned to rise 551 feet tall and yield 600,000 square feet of office space, but work has failed to progress beyond the early stages of excavation. Pavarini McGovern is the general contractor for the property, which is located between Fifth and Sixth Avenues.

Finishing Touches Underway on Virgin Hotel at 1225 Broadway in NoMad, Manhattan

Finishing touches are wrapping up on the Virgin Hotel, a 38-story tower at 1225 Broadway in NoMad. Designed by Stantec and developed by Lam Group, the 476-foot-tall structure will yield 300,000 square feet with 460 rooms managed by Sir Richard Branson of Virgin Group. Flintlock Construction Systems is the general contractor for the Midtown, Manhattan property, which is located at the corner of Broadway and West 30th Street, a short walk from Koreatown and the Flatiron District.
