One Willoughby Square Begins Ascent Towards 495-Foot Pinnacle in Downtown Brooklyn

Dozens of construction workers are quickly laying steel rebar and concrete for the foundations and lower floors of 1 Willoughby Square in Downtown Brooklyn. Located at 420 Albee Square, the 34-story, 495-foot-tall, 500,000 square foot Class-A office tower is being developed by JEMB and designed by FXCollaborative. It broke ground in February, and sits directly across the street from the City Point residential and retail complex to the west.

Brooklyn Point’s Facade Begins Rising as Superstructure Nears Halfway Mark in Downtown Brooklyn

The soon-to-be tallest skyscraper in Brooklyn is now on the verge of truly towering heights. Since YIMBY last visited Brooklyn Point, the concrete has risen 20 additional floors above street level. The installation of several segments of the façade has added another new element, offering a glimpse at the glass and white paneling soon to dominate the borough’s skyline, at least until 9 DeKalb’s imminent rise nearby. Studio Gang’s Shimmering 11 Hoyt Street Rising Above Ground in Downtown Brooklyn

It’s been three months since we got a first look at what’s coming to 11 Hoyt Street in Downtown Brooklyn. Now, construction is starting to rise above street level. The latest images from Tectonic reveal that the building has reached its sixth floor, just shy of one-eighth of the eventual total floor count. At this point, no elements of the distinctive design from the renderings are visible. The 51-story condominium tower is being designed by Studio Gang, a Chicago-based firm. This will be their first residential building in New York City.
