SLCE Architects’ One Boerum Place Tops Out In Downtown Brooklyn

One Boerum Place has topped out in Downtown Brooklyn. The slim reinforced concrete superstructure recently reached its 21-story parapet, and work is now shifting to the installation of its brick masonry façade. Designed by SLCE Architects and developed by Avery Hall InvestmentsAllegra Holdings, and Aria Development Group, the residential building sits on a narrow plot of land bound by Boerum Place, Red Hook Lane, and Fulton Street. The project is expected to cost around $250 million.

One Willoughby Square’s Glass Curtain Installation Begins in Downtown Brooklyn

Installation of the curtain wall has begun at One Willoughby Square, aka 420 Albee Square, in Downtown Brooklyn. The first row of industrial-style glass panels is now in place on the second floor of the 34-story, 495-foot-tall reinforced concrete skyscraper, joining the other windows already installed on the eastern and northern elevations. Designed by FXCollaborative and developed by JEMB Realty, the topped-out project currently holds the title of the tallest new office building in Brooklyn, and will yield 500,000 square feet of Class A office space. Gilbane Building Company is in charge of construction.

11 Hoyt Street’s Podium Takes Shape in Downtown Brooklyn

Work is entering the final stretch on Jeanne Gang’s 620-foot-tall, 57-story residential skyscraper at 11 Hoyt Street in Downtown Brooklyn. Installation of the wavy, rippling exterior is substantially complete with only the section behind the mechanical hoist awaiting completion. Meanwhile, the podium and entry areas are beginning to take shape on the residential building, which is developed by Tishman Speyer and designed by Studio Gang, with Hill West Architects as the architect of record. Edmund Hollander of Hollander Design is in charge of landscaping for the outdoor green space above the motor courtyard, while Michaelis Boyd Associates is leading the interior design for the residential units.

Foundations have reached street level at 22 Chapel Street in Downtown Brooklyn. Work has moved along swiftly on the 211-foot-tall residential building since YIMBY checked on the site in August, when excavation was just beginning. The 20-story rental project is designed by CetraRuddy and is being developed by Delshah Capital and OTL Enterprises. Located to the east of St. James Cathedral Basilica by the Brooklyn end of the Manhattan Bridge, 22 Chapel Street will contain 133,181 square feet divided among 180 units.

YIMBY recently went on a hard-hat tour of Jeanne Gang’s 620-foot-tall, 57-story skyscraper at 11 Hoyt Street in Downtown Brooklyn. The wavy, rippling precast façade has reached the flat roof parapet, while work on the podium and lower floors is headed toward completion. Tishman Speyer is the developer and Hill West is the architect of record for the Studio Gang-designed residential project. Edmund Hollander of Hollander Design is in charge of landscaping for the outdoor green space above the motor courtyard and podium section.
