Permits have been pre-filed for a new seven-story residential building at 443 West 54th Street in Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan. Manwei You will be responsible for the development. According to reports from The Real Deal dated from May of 2017, Manwei purchased the development for $23 million, and publicized a teaser design for the curtain wall building. While the image quality is low, it is still informative for how the scheme will fit in with surrounding neighbors.

Permits Filed for 422 West 49th Street, Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan

Permits have been filed for a residential building at 422 West 49th Street in Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan. The site is located in the heart of the neighborhood, equally two and a half avenues from Times Square and the Hudson River. Mortar ARCH + DEV will be responsible for the development and design.

Permits have been filed for a four-story residential building at 410 West 49th Street, in Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan. The site is one avenue away from the 50th Street subway station, serviced by the E trains. One avenue further are the Times Square subway stations, serviced by the N, R, W, and 1 trains. Galahad Realty Corporation is listed as behind the applications.

606 West 57th Street Named “The Max” In Honor of Max Elghanayan

The West Side’s building boom has been nothing short of transformative over the past few years, resulting in two new residential buildings of over 1,000 units apiece. While The Moinian Group’s Sky opened in 2016, TF Cornerstone’s 606 West 57th Street is also closing in on the finish line. With leasing expected to begin in a few months, YIMBY has word that the tower has officially been named The Max, in honor of Max Elghanayan.

Kaufman-Designed 305 West 48th Street Revealed in Hell’s Kitchen

Back in May, applications were filed for a new 27-story hotel at 305 West 48th Street, between Eighth and Ninth Avenues in Hell’s Kitchen. Now, we have the first rendering for the project, which is being designed by Gene Kaufman.

Earlier this week we reported on demolition filings to make way for construction of the new Irish Arts Center. The permits were to clear away most of 726 11th Avenue to expand the center’s footing in Hell’s Kitchen. Now, YIMBY has the reveal for new renderings of how the IAC will look from 11th Avenue, with an apparent 40% decrease in square footage.

Demolition permits have been filed for 726 11^th Avenue in Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan. The site is expected to become the center for a new Irish Cultural Center, as reported by YIMBY in 2014. The Center was established in 1972 and has been operating out of a tenement building on West 51^st Street since then, so the new space will offer a major upgrade.

A Lexus service building is about to meet the wrecking ball for a mixed-use residential project, complete with its own automotive showroom. Permits have been filed for the twelve-story structure at 547 West 47^th street, in Hell’s Kitchen. The site is one avenue east of the Hudson River Greenway, and three avenues west from the 50^th street subway station, serviced by the A, C, and E trains.

NYCHA Proposes Up to 250 Affordable Residential Units at Harborview Terrace, 520 West 55th Street, Hell’s Kitchen

The New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) is reviving plans for an affordable residential building at the Harborview Terrace public housing complex at 520 West 55th Street, in Hell’s Kitchen. The new building, to rise on a parking lot next to the complex’s northern tower, would contain between 200 and 250 affordable apartments, DNAinfo reported. The city is scheduled to launch a request for expression of interest (RFEI) this spring after hosting meetings where the community can offer input. The selected development team would ground-lease the property for 99 years. Construction is projected to begin in 2019.

42-Story, 1,028-Unit Mixed-Use Complex Rises to 17th Floor at 606 West 57th Street, Hell’s Kitchen

Construction is now up to the 17th floor on the 42-story, 1,028-unit mixed-use complex under development at 606 West 57th Street, located on a large portion of the block bounded by West 56th and 57th streets and 11th and 12th avenues in Hell’s Kitchen. Progress can be seen thanks to photos posted to the YIMBY Forums.
