Renovation Continues for Mount Sinai Surgical Innovation Center at 432 West 58th Street in Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan

Construction is progressing on the Mount Sinai Comprehensive Center For Surgical Innovation (CCSI), an 11-story building at 432 West 58th Street in Hell’s Kitchen. The project involves the renovation and modernization of the 52-year-old, 172,000-square-foot structure, which the hospital purchased back from the Italian school La’Scuola d’Italia for $75.1 million in 2018 three years after parting with it for $55 million. Lendlease is the general contractor for the project, which is being carried out with the help of an $11.6 million grant from the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC). The property is located between Ninth and Tenth Avenues, directly across 58th Street from the hospital’s main campus.

550 Tenth Avenue Rises Above Street Level, in Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan

Construction on 550 Tenth Avenue is quickly unfolding as the first floor of the 47-story residential skyscraper takes shape in Hell’s Kitchen. Designed by Handel Architects and developed by Gotham Organization and Goldman Sachs Asset Management JV, the ground-up 520-foot-tall reinforced concrete superstructure will span 430,000 square feet and yield a total of 453 rental units, with 137 residences for moderate and middle incomes, as well as 9,000 square feet of commercial retail space, over 20,000 square feet of residential amenities, and 26,764 square feet of administrative office space for Covenant House. GO Covenant LLC is the owner and Monadnock Construction is the general contractor for the Midtown, Manhattan property, which is located along Tenth Avenue between West 40th and 41st Streets.

Permits Filed for 430 West 37th Street in Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan

Permits have been filed for an 11-story mixed-use building at 430 West 37th Street in Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan. Located between Ninth and Tenth Avenues, the lot is a short walk to the 34 Street-Hudson Yards subway station, serviced by the 7 train. It is unclear who the owner is but Warner Construction is the general contractor for the property.

735 Ninth Avenue Progresses in Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan

Construction is progressing on 735 Ninth Avenue, an eight-story residential building in Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan. Designed by Bojidar Kadiev and developed by Joseph Galvano under the 735-739 Ninth Avenue Realty Corp., the structure will yield 12 units and ground-floor commercial space for a restaurant and retail tenant. Xenon Construction Group is the general contractor for the Midtown property, which is located near the corner of Ninth Avenue and West 50th Street.

Permits Filed for 648 West 48th Street in Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan

Permits have been filed for a six-story commercial building at 648 West 48th Street in Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan. Located between Eleventh and Twelfth Avenues, the corner lot is closest to the 50th Street subway station on Eighth Avenue, serviced by the C and E trains. Verizon is listed as the owner behind the applications.

Curtain Wall Installation Underway at 312 West 43rd Street in Midtown, Manhattan

Curtain wall installation has begun on 312 West 43rd Street, a 33-story residential building on the southern border of Hell’s Kitchen in Midtown, Manhattan. Designed by Handel Architects and developed by National Real Estate Advisors and Taconic Partners, which leased ground rights from the 1199SIEU Health Care Workers Union for a term of 99 years, the structure will yield 330 rental units, 28,000 square feet of amenities, and two floors of retail space. DeSimone Consulting Engineers is the structural engineer and Triton Construction is the general contractor for the project, which is located between Eighth and Ninth Avenues, near Times Square.

Renovation and expansion work is nearing completion on 787 Eleventh Avenue, a ten-story commercial building in Hell’s Kitchen. Designed by Rafael Viñoly and developed by the Georgetown Company, the project involved the restoration of the historic structure’s façade, modernization of its interiors, and the construction of an 86,000-square-foot, two-story extension above the original parapet. JLL is in charge of leasing and Hunter Roberts Construction Group is the general contractor for the property, which is bound by West 55th Street to the north, West 54th Street and DeWitt Clinton Park to the south, and Eleventh Avenue to the east.

439-441 West 54th Street Progresses in Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan

Façade work is finishing up on 439-441 West 54th Street, a seven-story residential building in Hell’s Kitchen. Designed by ODA and developed by Yaus Special Clinton District LLC, the 66-foot-tall structure will yield 28 condominium units spread across 38,850 square feet, for an average of 1,170 square feet apiece. Cornerstone Structures is the general contractor for the property, which is located between Ninth and Tenth Avenues. Brown Harris Stevens Development Marketing will be handling sales.
