606 West 57th Street Named “The Max” In Honor of Max Elghanayan

The West Side’s building boom has been nothing short of transformative over the past few years, resulting in two new residential buildings of over 1,000 units apiece. While The Moinian Group’s Sky opened in 2016, TF Cornerstone’s 606 West 57th Street is also closing in on the finish line. With leasing expected to begin in a few months, YIMBY has word that the tower has officially been named The Max, in honor of Max Elghanayan.

Demolition permits have been filed for 726 11th Avenue in Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan. The site is expected to become the center for a new Irish Cultural Center, as reported by YIMBY in 2014. The Center was established in 1972 and has been operating out of a tenement building on West 51st Street since then, so the new space will offer a major upgrade.

A Lexus service building is about to meet the wrecking ball for a mixed-use residential project, complete with its own automotive showroom. Permits have been filed for the twelve-story structure at 547 West 47th street, in Hell’s Kitchen. The site is one avenue east of the Hudson River Greenway, and three avenues west from the 50th street subway station, serviced by the A, C, and E trains.
