Extell’s 32 West 48th Street Nears Topping Out in Midtown, Manhattan

Construction is close to topping out at 32 West 48th Street, a 31-story hotel tower in Midtown, Manhattan’s Diamond District. Designed by SLCE Architects and developed by Extell, the 456-foot-tall structure will span 213,158 square feet and yield 534 guest rooms with an average scope of 316 square feet. AECOM Tishman is the general contractor for the project, which is located between Fifth and Sixth Avenues, directly south of Rockefeller Center, with a narrow annex extending south to West 47th Street.

660 Lexington Avenue Surpasses Halfway Mark in Midtown East, Manhattan

Construction is climbing higher and surpasses its halfway mark at 660 Lexington Avenue, a 19-story mixed-use residential building in Midtown East, Manhattan. Designed by Zproekt Architecture and developed and built by Sergey Rybak of Rybak Development under the 660 Lexington Avenue Development LLC, the 233-foot-tall structure will span 52,558 square feet and yield 23 condominium units with an average scope of 2,123 square feet, as well as 2,551 square feet of commercial space, 1,174 square feet of community facility space, and a cellar level. The ground-up property is alternately addressed as 133 East 55th Street and located at the corner of Lexington Avenue and East 55th Street.

Best Western Hotel Tops Out at 319-321 West 38th Street in Midtown, Manhattan

Construction has topped out on 319-321 West 38th Street, a 26-story Best Western Hotel in Midtown, Manhattan. Designed by Gene Kaufman Architect and developed by 319 West 38th Steel LP, the 250-foot-tall structure will span 44,200 square feet with an undisclosed number of hotel rooms and a collection of amenities. The property stands on two adjoining interior plots between Eighth and Ninth Avenues.

Demolition Continues for SOM-Designed Skyscraper at 12 West 57th Street in Midtown, Manhattan

Demolition continues at 12 West 57th Street, the site of a proposed 52-story, 672-foot-tall residential skyscraper in Midtown, Manhattan. Designed by Skidmore, Owings, & Merrill and developed by Sheldon Solow of Solow Management Corp., who filed permits for the ground-up project in 2019, the tower will rise along Billionaires’ Row between Fifth and Sixth Avenues and West 56th and 57th Streets. The tower will rise on an assemblage formerly occupied by multiple low- and mid-rise buildings between 10 and 20 West 57th Street.

Updated Renderings Revealed for 350 East 18th Street in Gramercy Park, Manhattan

New exterior renderings have been revealed for 350 East 18th Street, a 13-story residential building in Gramercy Park, Manhattan. Designed by ARC Architecture + Design Studio and developed by Minrav Development, the 124-foot-tall structure will span 63,720 square feet and yield 40 condominium units with an average scope of 1,200 square feet, as well as 6,970 square feet of ground-floor retail space. The property is alternately addressed as 305 First Avenue and is located at the corner of East 18th Street and First Avenue, directly across from Stuyvesant Town.

Renderings Reveal Liberty Landing Affordable Housing Conversion at 550 West 20th Street in West Chelsea, Manhattan

New renderings have been revealed for Liberty Landing, an affordable housing conversion and expansion of the former Bayview Correctional Facility at 550 West 20th Street in West Chelsea, Manhattan. Designed by COOKFOX Architects and developed in a joint venture between Camber Property Group and Osborne Association, the $108 million project will involve the repurposing of the 100,000-square-foot Art Deco building and the construction of a seven-story addition atop its parapet. The development will yield 124 permanently affordable housing units, with 74 dedicated to formerly incarcerated individuals, as well as 15 short-term transitional homes for individuals with mental health challenges, on-site supportive services, and a ninth-floor outdoor terrace. The property is located at the corner of West 20th and West Streets, across from Hudson River Park and directly abutting Jean Nouvel’s residential tower at 100 Eleventh Avenue.

Flight Club Signs Lease at 31 Union Square West in Flatiron, Manhattan

State of Play Hospitality group has signed a lease to open Flight Club, a technology-enabled darts gaming facility, at 31 Union Square West in Flatiron, Manhattan. This will be the group’s first venue in Manhattan, and its ninth lease for the Flight Club brand in North America. The location will be a global flagship for the brand.

New Leases Totaling 58,000 Square Feet Signed At 1177 Avenue Of The Americas In Midtown, Manhattan

Silverstein Properties recently announced two new lease signings totaling approximately 58,000 square feet at 1177 Avenue of the Americas, a Class A office tower in Midtown, Manhattan. The property, which was built in 1992 and underwent a large-scale renovation in 2013, was designed by Swanke Hayden Connell Architects.

711 Seventh Avenue Approaches Topping Out in Times Square, Manhattan

Construction is nearing topping out on 711 Seventh Avenue, a 32-story hotel tower in Times Square. Designed by Gene Kaufman Architect and developed in a joint venture between general contractor Flintlock Construction Services and Atlas Hospitality under the 711 Seventh Hotel Associates LLC, the 343-foot-tall structure will yield 400 guest rooms under IHG Hotel & Resorts’ VOCO brand. The property is alternately addressed as 170 West 48th Street and is rising on an L-shaped parcel with frontage along Seventh Avenue and West 48th Street.

Work Nears Street Level For 68-Story Skyscraper At 100 West 37th Street in Midtown, Manhattan

Foundation work is building upward towards street level at 100 West 37th Street, the site of a 68-story mixed-use skyscraper in the Garment District of Midtown, Manhattan. Designed by C3D Architecture and developed by Sioni Group under the 989 Sixth Realty LLC, the 743-foot-tall structure will span 384,118 square feet and yield 300 condominium units with an average scope of 991 square feet, as well as 86,817 square feet of commercial space and two cellar levels. The property is alternately addressed as 989-993 Sixth Avenue and located at the intersection of Sixth Avenue and West 37th Street.
