Foundation Work Begins For 1,789-Unit Mixed-Use Development At 28-10 Jackson Avenue, Long Island City

Late last year, YIMBY reported on job applications for the 1,789-unit mixed-use development planned at 28-10 Jackson Avenue, in Long Island City. Now, The Court Square Blog reports foundation work has begun; Tishman Speyer and H&R Real Estate Investment Trust are developing, and the project includes 53-, 44-, and 33-story towers, with a combined total of 15,500 square feet of ground-floor retail. Completion is expected in June 2018, per signage, and Goldstein Hill & West is the architect of record.

Excavation Begins On 44-Story Mixed-Use Building At 29-26 Northern Boulevard, Long Island City

Back in 2014, YIMBY revealed renderings of Simon Baron Development’s planned 44-story, 467-unit mixed-use tower at 29-26 Northern Boulevard, in Long Island City, and now excavation has begun, per The Court Square Blog. The building, dubbed QE7, will measure 382,120 square feet, which includes 13,580 square feet of retail space on the first and second floors. SBJ Group is designing, and completion is expected by the summer of 2018.


30-02 48th Avenue

Office Conversion Of Three-Story Warehouse At 30-02 48th Avenue, Long Island City

The Brickman Group and investor Daniel Loeb are planning to convert the three-story, 150,000 square-foot warehouse into offices at 30-02 48th Avenue, in the Hunters Point section of Long Island City. According to Crain’s, the building near the Hunters Point Avenue 7 train stop will undergo a top-down renovation, featuring a new lobby and roof deck, designed by Fogarty Finger. Brickman acquired the the property in 2013 for $21 million.
