Nine-Story, 108-Key Hotel Begins Rising At 27-07 43rd Avenue, Long Island City

The planned nine-story, 108-unit Hyatt Hotel at 27-07 43rd Avenue, in Long Island City, is now one floor above street level, according to The Court Square Blog. The building will measure 49,590 square feet in total. The developer, Prakash Patel, originally planned a residential project for the site, but filed new permits in 2014 for a hotel. The building is now expected to be complete in early 2016, and Michael Kang is the architect of record.

11-Story, 186-Unit Building Planned At 22-12 Jackson Avenue, Long Island City

Adam America and MSD Partners have acquired the development site at 22-12 Jackson Avenue, in Long Island City — a few blocks south of Court Square stations serviced by the 7, E, M, and G trains — for $43.5 million. According to Crain’s Business, the developers plan to construct an 11-story, 186-unit mixed-use building measuring 210,000 square feet. A 5,000 square-foot retail portion is planned for the ground floor, and both ODA and Issac & Stern are designing. A small single-story structure must first be removed.

But today, one developer filed plans for a mixed-use building with apartments and ground-floor manufacturing at 37-29 33rd Street, in a subdistrict known as Dutch Kills.

Joseph Palumbo’s Rising Developers Group has filed applications for a four-story, 14-unit residential building at 5-25 47th Road, in Long Island City, a couple blocks in either direction from the G and 7 train stops. The building will measure 14,780 square feet, which means the units, possibly condos, will average a spacious 1,055 square feet. Alfredo Fredericks is the applicant of record, and an existing single-story warehouse must first be demolished.
