50 Hudson Yards

Related To Complete Property Assemblage At 50 Hudson Yards Site, Midtown West

Since December 2013, YIMBY has revealed three different conceptual renderings of 50 Hudson Yards, Related Companies’ planned commercial (and residential?) development project between 10th Avenue and Hudson Boulevard, and West 33rd and 34th Street, in Midtown West. Today, Related has reached a deal with McDonalds to acquire the last property at the development site, according to Crain’s. McDonald’s plans to close before the end of the year, and demolition will subsequently commence on the existing properties. A 3.3 million square foot mixed-use building could be built, though a final design has not yet been revealed.


275 West 140th Street

Eight-Story, 54-Unit Mixed-Use Project Rises At 275 West 140th Street, Harlem

In November of 2014, YIMBY revealed renderings of Radson Development’s eight-story, 54-unit mixed-use building planned at 275 West 140th Street, in northern Harlem, and now the building is finally rising above street level, per Harlem+Bespoke. Dubbed Strivers Plaza, the building will include an 8,000 square-foot supermarket on the ground floor, as well as a 500 square-foot community facility space. Aufgang Architects is designing, and completion can likely be expected closer to 2017.


301 East 50th Street

29-Story, 57-Unit Condo Tower Wraps Up Construction At 301 East 50th Street,

YIMBY last brought you an update on the 29-story & 57-unit tower at 301 East 50th Street, in Midtown East, back in November of 2014. Since then, the building has received the rest of its façade, per Curbed. CBSK Ironstate is developing, and the building will also include 6,200 square feet of ground-floor retail space. The limestone-clad structure was designed by COOKFOX Architects, and opening can probably be expected before the year’s end.


520 West 28th Street

New Renderings, Update For 11-Story Condo Project At 520 West 28th Street, West Chelsea

Over the summer, Related Companies’ 11-story, 39-unit mixed-use building at 520 West 28th Street, in West Chelsea, was just starting to climb above street level, and now Curbed has a slew of new exterior and interior renderings via the project’s teaser site. The building will be topped by a 6,391 square-foot triplex penthouse, and 11,180 square feet of retail space is planned on the ground floor. Zaha Hadid is designing the project, Hayes Davidson crafted the renderings, and completion is expected in late 2016.


20 Broad Street

Residential Conversion Planned At 20 Broad Street, 27-Story Office Building In Financial District

Back in August, Vornado Realty Trust mulled the idea of a residential conversion at the 27-story, 473,000 square-foot office building at 20 Broad Street, in the Financial District. Now, Nathan Berman is purchasing the leasehold from Vornado and reportedly following through with the conversion to rental apartments, per Crain’s. The New York Stock Exchange — expected to vacate the structure next August — owns the land under the building, and the lease expires in 2081.
