One Wall Street is in the midst of a huge $1.5 billion makeover as the 51-story Art Deco gem is converted from office use into 566 residential units, topped with a triplex that may fetch $40 million. At street level, significant activity can be seen, as parts of the facade have been removed to make way for the retail section in the building that will bring a Whole Foods to the Financial District.
New permits have been filed for a 52-story residential building at 555 West 38th Street in the Hudson Yards district of Manhattan. While the site is across the street from the Jacob Javits Convention center, it is not immediately next to Related’s mega-development, being five blocks away from 55 Hudson Yards. Rockrose will be responsible for the development.
Renderings have been revealed 2016 Arthur Avenue, a nine-story affordable housing complex coming to Tremont, The Bronx. Foxy Management will develop the building, with an affiliation to the Riverdale-based Hebrew Home for the Aged. This will be their second project working together, after the identically natured and 90% complete 1880 Boston Road.
The soon-to-be tallest skyscraper in Brooklyn is now on the verge of truly towering heights. Since YIMBY last visited Brooklyn Point, the concrete has risen 20 additional floors above street level. The installation of several segments of the façade has added another new element, offering a glimpse at the glass and white paneling soon to dominate the borough’s skyline, at least until 9 DeKalb’s imminent rise nearby. Extell is responsible for the development.
Permits have been filed for a new nine-story residential complex at 2016 Arthur Avenue in The Bronx’s Tremont neighborhood. The site is eight blocks away from the Tremont train station, serviced by Metro North. Jeff Fox of Foxy Management is responsible for the development, and the firm purchased the lot for $4 million earlier this year.
