CW Realty Management has entered into contract to acquire, for $45 million, the development assemblage at 187-201 Kent Avenue and 48-50 North 3rd Street, located three blocks in from the East River in northern Williamsburg. The plan is for a 140,000-square-foot mixed-use building with retail space and rental apartments, The Real Deal reported. Retail will be located on the ground and cellar levels, and there will also be a parking garage. The number of units is unknown at this time. The 23,150-square-foot assemblage is currently occupied by one- and two-story warehouses, one of which is currently used as event space. Demolition permits haven’t been filed.
Much of the Broadway Triangle in Williamsburg is frozen by a legal battle over discriminatory zoning, but developer Rabsky Group is pushing forward with their plan to develop two industrial properties in the area into seven large residential towers.
Many of the vinyl-clad, wood frame houses typical in eastern Williamsburg are biting the dust for new development. Today, we have a look at a new project replacing a little two story house at 95 Ainslie Street, between Lorimer Street and Union Avenue.
A year ago, a local developer filed plans to convert and expand a small commercial building on Flushing Avenue in Williamsburg’s Broadway Triangle into a nine-story yeshiva with apartments. Now, the project at 685 Flushing Avenue has resurfaced as a new, 12-story building with a synagogue and a hotel.
Things are moving along swiftly at a new hotel in Brooklyn. Construction is complete on the 23-story, 250-foot-tall mixed-use building — which YIMBY has been chronicling the construction of since its superstructure began to rise in early 2015 — at 55 Wythe Avenue, located between North 12th and 13th streets in northern Williamsburg. The 183-key boutique hotel, dubbed The William Vale, is expected to open later this month, Curbed NY reported. The hotel rooms will be located on the 11th through 21st floors. The 248,000-square-foot structure boasts 19,257 square feet of ground-floor retail and restaurant space, followed by 35,678 square feet of medical office space on the fifth through ninth floors. The complex will be accommodated by a 210-car parking garage, a pedestrian plaza, a slew of amenities on the second through fourth floors, a restaurant on the 22nd and 23rd floors, and a 15,000-square-foot roof terrace. Zelig Weiss and Riverside Developers co-developed the project, and Aldo Liberis served as the design architect. The Nassau Avenue stop on the G train is seven blocks away.
