Affordable Housing Lottery Launches for The Estela at 414-445 Gerard Avenue in Mott Haven, The Bronx

The Domain Companies has launched an affordable housing lottery for apartments at The Estela, a two-building rental complex in the Mott Haven section of the South Bronx. Located at 414 and 445 Gerard Avenue, the property contains a mix of 380 market-rate units, 164 affordable apartments, 35,000 square feet of tenant amenities, and about 9,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space, which will include a grocery store.

Excavation Progresses at 18 West 55th Street in Midtown, Manhattan 

Excavation is in full swing at 18 West 55th Street, the site of a forthcoming 24-story residential building in Midtown, Manhattan. Designed by Morris Adjmi Architects and developed Garden Homes under the 18 West 55th Street LLC, the 289-foot-tall structure will yield 152,084 square feet with 97 rental units spread across 127,909 square feet, as well as 6,380 square feet of ground-floor commercial space and a 10,343-square-foot cellar level. Garden Homes and co-developer and general contractor Skyline Developers purchased the property, which is located between Fifth and Sixth Avenues, for $75 million in 2019.

The $414 million renovation of Penn Station‘s Long Island Rail Road concourse is now complete in Midtown, Manhattan. Designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, AECOM, and Skanska, the project centered on the station’s cavernous 33rd Street corridor, improving circulation and access for more than 600,000 people who traverse the corridor daily.
