Developed from community input gathered over the past six months, the plan is designed to foster housing and economic growth, and also plans to improve public spaces and make critical infrastructure enhancements across more than 300 blocks in Jamaica, Queens.

405, 407 West 206th Street Rise Past Halfway Mark in Inwood, Manhattan

Construction is rising above the halfway mark on 405 and 407 West 206th Street, a sprawling two-tower mixed-use project in Inwood, Manhattan. Designed by Beyer Blinder Belle in a joint with the LMXD affiliate of L+M Development Partners, MSquared, and Taconic Partners, the 751,687-square-foot structures consist of 14- and 17-story volumes standing 140 and 175 feet tall and will yield 700 rental units with 281 dedicated to affordable housing, as well as a supermarket under the city of New York’s Food Retail Expansion to Support Health Program program and an immigrant-centered performing arts center owned and operated by the People’s Theatre Project. Inwood Lot 9 Development Associates LLC is the owner, Community League of the Heights is the community sponsor, and Chatsworth Builders is the general contractor for the $416 million project, which is bound by West 206th and West 207th Streets and Ninth Avenue.

Supportive Housing Project Breaks Ground at 3118 Webster Avenue in Norwood, The Bronx

The Doe Fund, a nonprofit organization dedicated to combatting homelessness, has broken ground at 3118 Webster Avenue, the site of an 11-story affordable and supportive housing project in the Norwood neighborhood of The Bronx. Designed by Curtis + Ginsberg Architects and developed in collaboration with Urban Builders Collaborative, the 98,400-square-foot structure will yield 109 apartments in studio to three-bedroom layouts, with 70 affordable units for residents earning 40 to 80 percent of the area median income and 39 supportive units for individuals and families who have experienced chronic homelessness. The property will also feature 1,500 square feet of ground-level retail space. The project is located between East 204th and 205th Streets.
