Permits have been filed to expand a one-story structure into a five-story mixed-use building at 819 Bedford Avenue in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. Located between Park Avenue and Myrtle Avenue, the lot is near the Classon Avenue subway station, serviced by the G train. Zalmen Lebovitc is listed as the owner behind the applications.
JPMorgan Chase’s Supertall Nears its Pinnacle at 270 Park Avenue in Midtown East, Manhattan
The tallest building on our year-end construction countdown is JPMorgan Chase‘s 1,388-foot supertall headquarters at 270 Park Avenue in Midtown East. Designed by Lord Norman Foster of Foster + Partners with Adamsom Associates as the architect of record and developed by Tishman Speyer, the 60-story skyscraper will yield 2.5 million square feet of office space with a capacity of 15,000 employees, and will become the tallest structure in New York completely powered by hydroelectric energy. AECOM Tishman is the general contractor for the full-block property, which is bound by East 48th Street to the north, East 47th Street to the south, Park Avenue to the east, and Madison Avenue to the west.
Demolition Finishes at 620 Twelfth Avenue in Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan
Demolition has concluded at 620 Twelfth Avenue, the site of a six-story storage and office facility in Hells Kitchen. Owned by Edison Properties and leased to Verizon Communications for $50 million, the structure will span 269,000 square feet and include a cellar level, which may feature on-site parking for the network operator. Nordest Services served as the demolition contractor for the property, which is alternately addressed as 648 West 48th Street and is bound by West 47th and West 48th Streets and the Hudson River Greenway.
Winchester Green Breaks Ground at 315 Winchester Avenue in New Haven, Connecticut
Winchester Partners, a collaboration between Twining Properties and LMXD, has announced the commencement of construction for Winchester Green, a two-tower development at 315 Winchester Avenue in New Haven‘s Science Park. The $90 million project aims to turn an underutilized parking lot into a mixed-use and mixed-income community space, expected to open in early 2026.
