Construction Progresses on South Brooklyn Marine Terminal in Sunset Park, Brooklyn

Construction is progressing on the South Brooklyn Marine Terminal, a 73-acre project to support the development of the Empire Wind 1 offshore wind farm. Developed by the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) and Sustainable South Brooklyn Marine Terminal (SSBMT), a joint venture of Red Hook Terminals and Industry City, the complex will serve as a staging and assembly site for the wind farm’s turbine components and will feature a substation to connect the wind power to the city’s grid. The $861 million project is located on the border of Sunset Park and Greenwood Heights between 29th and 39th Streets on the western side of 2nd Avenue.

Woodhull II Residence Opens At 171 Throop Avenue In Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn

Mayor Eric Adams, NYC Health + Hospitals, and the Department of Housing Preservation and Development have announced the opening of Woodhull II Residence, a $41.5 million affordable and supportive housing development at 171 Throop Avenue in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. The 93-unit building is situated on the campus of NYC Health + Hospitals/Woodhull, and provides housing for patients experiencing homelessness, low-income seniors, and other low-income New Yorkers.

Housing Lottery Launches for 88-11 179th Place in Jamaica, Queens

The affordable housing lottery has launched for 88-11 179th Place, an eight-story mixed-use building in Jamaica, Queens. Designed by Design 101 LLC and developed by Palwinder Singh, the structure yields 49 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 15 units for residents at 80 to 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $69,875 to $218,010.

The Slope on Fifth Tops Out At 445 5th Avenue in Park Slope, Brooklyn

Construction has topped out on The Slope on Fifth, a six-story mixed-use building at 445 5th Avenue in Park Slope, Brooklyn. Designed by Tahir Demircioglu Architect and developed by RJ Capital Holdings, the 74-foot-tall structure will span 53,099 square feet and yield 30 condominium units with an average scope of 991 square feet. The building will also contain 23,359 square feet of commercial space, 24 enclosed parking spaces, and storage for 25 bicycles. The property is located at the corner of 5th Avenue and 9th Street.

A&E Real Estate Acquires Rivers Bend At 501 East 87th Street on the Upper East Side, Manhattan

A&E Real Estate has acquired Rivers Bend, a 21-story rental apartment building on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. The company purchased the 179-unit property at 501 East 87th Street from Soloviev Group for $116.5 million, equating to approximately $547,000 per unit.
