Excavation Underway At 200 West 88th Street on Manhattan’s Upper West Side

Earthwork has begun at 200 West 88th Street, the site of an 18-story residential tower on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Designed by Robert A. M. Stern Architects and developed by Nortco Development, the 215-foot-tall structure will span 114,000 square feet and yield 37 condominium units. The building will also contain ground-floor retail space and enclosed parking spaces on the second level. The property is alternately addressed as 568-574 Amsterdam Avenue and located at the corner of West 88th Street and Amsterdam Avenue.

142 33rd Street Resumes Construction in Sunset Park, Brooklyn

Construction has resumed on 142 33rd Street, a seven-story hotel in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. Designed by Jonathan Newel Architecture, the 32,050-square-foot building is planned to yield 72 guest rooms with an average scope of 445 square feet, according to permits filed in 2015. The project is also slated to include a ground-floor restaurant and offices, a fitness room in the cellar, and a parking lot with 16 spaces. Kue Jor Ng of Sunrise Hospitality Ventures is listed as the owner of the property, which is situated on an interior lot between 3rd and 4th Avenues.

HPD Targets 250 Buildings Across NYC In 2025 Alternative Enforcement Program

The New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) has announced the 2025 round of its Alternative Enforcement Program (AEP), targeting 250 buildings across all five boroughs with persistent housing violations. Now in its 18th year, the program aims to address 53,986 open violations citywide and recover nearly $3 million in emergency repair costs. Alongside the AEP, HPD has also launched its first Certification Watchlist to flag properties with falsely certified repair completions.
