In January, YIMBY brought you the first look at a 23-story residential project planned for 4650 Broadway, on the border between Washington Heights and Inwood. Now, a different developer has filed plans for a 19-story apartment building only two blocks south, at 4566 Broadway.
As East Harlem braces for another rezoning, developers continue to transform the neighborhood’s small storefronts and vacant lots into new residential projects. Last week, we spotted plans for another building that we can add to the fast-growing list of developments in the area. It would rise at 2282 Second Avenue, on the corner of 117th Street.
The abandoned tuberculosis sanatorium at the Seaview Hospital campus on Staten Island may finally get a new neighbor. Meals on Wheels of Staten Island has filed plans to develop a two-story building in the northeast corner of the century-old hospital complex.

Last fall, the New York Times broke the news that the landmarked Metro Theater on the Upper West Side would become a Planet Fitness. Now applications have officially been filed to convert the 1930s Art Deco theater at 2626 Broadway into retail.
