Yesterday YIMBY brought you a rendering for an East Harlem residential project on East 112th Street, and today we’ve got an update on the rental building underway at 2338 2nd Avenue, at East 120th Street.
The famed Rizzoli Bookstore at 31 West 57th Street has bitten the dust, to be replaced by a “seven-star” hotel developed by the LeFrak Organization and Vornado Realty. The 109-year-old shop between Fifth and Sixth Avenues shuttered a year ago, despite the efforts of preservationists who tried to get Landmarks protection for the interior.
Construction is starting to pick up in East Harlem, where YIMBY spotted this rendering on the fence at 318 East 112th Street, between 1st and 2nd Avenues.
Developer Stagg Group is taking the northern Bronx by storm, and their latest project is an apartment building planned for 29 Featherbed Lane in Morris Heights, just across the Harlem River from Washington Heights.
The city has had grand plans to build a Utica Avenue subway line for nearly a century, and on Wednesday, de Blasio resurrected the idea of extending the 4 train out as far as Kings Plaza in Mill Basin, bringing trains to a transit-starved area of southeastern Brooklyn.
