Last summer, developer Exclusive Homes New York filed plans for a six-story residential building at 253 Tompkins Avenue, across the street from Herbert Von King Park in Bed-Stuy. Now, we have the first look at the project.
The blocks around the Queensboro Bridge have seen some of the most dramatic development in Long Island City. Last week, we spotted plans for yet another new project in the works there at 41-41 24th Street, between the bridge and 41st Avenue.
New construction rarely comes to Bay Ridge, because the zoning is restrictive and development sites in the southern Brooklyn neighborhood are hard to come by. However, one builder managed to snag a site along the neighborhood’s commercial thoroughfare, Third Avenue. New building applications were filed last week for a six-story, mixed-use building at 9701 Third Avenue, on the corner of 97th Street.
More market rate development may be coming to Mott Haven in the South Bronx. New building applications call for a seven-story residential project at 417 East 135th Street, just north of the Major Deegan Expressway.
A thrift store just moved into a warehouse at 387 Bushwick Avenue, across from Bushwick Houses in East Williamsburg, but it may not be there for long. The thrift store and two neighboring buildings will likely bite the dust for a seven-story apartment building.
