Excavation work is getting started at 22 Chapel Street in Downtown Brooklyn. The ground-up, 20-story rental complex is designed by CetraRuddy and developed by Delshah Capital and OTL Enterprises. The superstructure will rise 211 feet high above Flatbush Avenue and sit between Chapel Street and Cathedral Place. A total of 133,181 square feet of residential space will be created and spread among 180 units.
Permits have been filed for a 13-story mixed-use building at 227 Duffield Street in Downtown Brooklyn. Located between Willoughby Street and Fulton Street, the lot is located near several subway stations, including Hoyt Street with the 2 and 3 trains; DeKalb Avenue with the B, Q, and R trains; and Jay Street-Metrotech with the A, C, and F trains. Also nearby are a few high-rise residential developments in progress like 9 DeKalb Avenue and Brooklyn Point at 138 Willoughby Street. Samiel Hansab under the 227 Duffield Street Corp. is listed as the owner behind the applications.
Excavation is progressing at 9 DeKalb Avenue in Downtown Brooklyn, the site of the borough’s first supertall. The 1,066-foot-tall tower is designed by SHoP Architects and developed by JDS, which secured $664 million in funding for the project several months ago from Otéra Capital Inc. and Silverstein Capital Partners. The 73-story residential tower will eventually become the tallest structure in Brooklyn, as well as the first tower in the outer boroughs to pass the 300-meter supertall threshold.
Governor Andrew Cuomo was in attendance as developers celebrated the commencement of construction at the Nevins Street Apartments complex in Downtown Brooklyn. Located at 50 Nevins Street, the mixed-use development will introduce 129 affordable apartments to the neighborhood and provide a comprehensive offering of mental health support services for its lowest-income residents.
New York City-based real estate developer Leser Group recently filed for zoning map amendments to facilitate the construction of a commercial development at 101 Fleet Place, in Downtown Brooklyn. If approved by the New York City Planning Commission, the 14-story office building would comprise 209,354 square feet with anticipated completion by 2021.
