The Alloy Block’s 505 State Street Approaches Completion in Downtown Brooklyn

At number 19 on our year-end countdown of the tallest buildings under construction in New York is 505 State Street, a 482-foot-tall residential tower in The Alloy Block complex in Downtown Brooklyn. Designed and developed by Alloy Development, the 44-story structure will yield 441 rental units, with 45 reserved for affordable housing, and will be fully powered by electricity. The five-building Alloy Block master plan will comprise a total of 850 units with 200 permanently affordable apartments, 100,000 square feet of Class A office space, 50,000 square feet of retail space, 500 bicycle parking spaces, two Passive House public schools designed by Architecture Research Office, and space for a local cultural institution. Urban Atelier Group is the general contractor for 505 State Street, which was formerly addressed as 100 Flatbush Avenue and is bound by Flatbush Avenue to the northeast, Third Avenue to the northwest, and State Street to the southwest.

15 Hanover Place Nears Completion in Downtown Brooklyn

The 24th-tallest building on our year-end construction countdown is 15 Hanover Place, a 463-foot-tall residential tower nearing completion in Downtown Brooklyn. Designed by Fogarty Finger and developed by Lonicera Partners, the 34-story structure will span 295,000 square feet and yield 314 apartments, with 95 reserved for affordable housing, as well as 9,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space. Rabina is the co-developer and Noble Construction Group is the general contractor for the property, which was formerly addressed as 23 Hanover Place and is located at the corner of Livingston Street and Hanover Place.

Designed and developed by Alloy Development, the structure yields 440 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 45 units for residents at 40 to 100 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $29,109 to $127,100.

New renderings have been revealed for 9 Chapel, a 14-story residential building under construction at 9 Chapel Street in Downtown Brooklyn. Designed by Kane Architecture and Urban Design (Kane AUD) with SO-IL as the design architect, and developed by Tankhouse Development, the topped-out 130-foot-tall structure will yield 27 condominium units with an average scope of 1,340 square feet. KSK Construction Group is the general contractor and 219 JSP LLC is the owner of the property, which is alternately addressed as 219 Jay Street and bound by Concord Street to the north, Chapel Street to the south, and Jay Street to the west.
