450 Eleventh Avenue’s Angular Glass Façade Reaches Halfway Mark in Hudson Yards, Manhattan

Façade installation has reached the halfway mark of 450 Eleventh Avenue, a 51-story hotel skyscraper in Hudson Yards. Designed by DSM Design Group and developed by Marx Development Group, the 642-foot-tall structure will house a 379-room Aloft hotel along with amenities including a business center, a ballroom, and a fourth-floor restaurant with a bar and outdoor terrace. Atria Builders is the general contractor for the project, which is located at the corner of West 37th Street and Eleventh Avenue, directly across from the Jacob K. Javits Center.

Developer Secures $193M to Complete Pathside Tower at 499 Summit Avenue in Jersey City, New Jersey

Panepinto Properties has closed on a $193 million construction loan to complete Pathside, a 605-unit rental tower in Jersey City. Located at 499 Summit Avenue in the city’s Journal Square neighborhood, the building is designed by HLW International and will top out at 53 stories or about 566 feet.

A new rendering has been revealed for 360 Tenth Avenue, a proposed supertall commercial skyscraper in Midtown West, Manhattan. The structure will yield 1 million square feet of Class A office space. McCourt Global is the current owner of the property, which is situated between Brookfield Properties‘ Manhattan West complex and Related Companies‘ first phase of Hudson Yards, and bound by West 31st Street to the north, Dyer Avenue and West 30th Street to the south, and Tenth Avenue to the west.

Construction is complete on 155 West 29th Street, an 18-story Public Storage facility in Chelsea, Manhattan. Designed by Mancini Duffy Architects and developed by The Davis Companies along with joint venture partner Highland Development Ventures, the 180,000-square-foot structure contains 6,000 storage units. Cauldwell Wingate was the contractor for the project, which is located between Sixth and Seventh Avenues.

Façade Installation Begins for KPF’s 520 Fifth Avenue Supertall in Midtown, Manhattan

Façade installation has begun on 520 Fifth Avenue, a rising 76-story residential supertall in Midtown, Manhattan. Designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox and developed by Rabina, which took over from Ceruzzi Properties and SMI USA in 2019, the 1,000-foot-tall skyscraper will yield 415,000 square feet with 98 condominium units, as well as commercial space on the lower floors and four cellar levels. Charles & Co. is going to be the interior designer, WSP is the structural engineer, DeSimone Consulting Engineers is the façade consultant, and Suffolk Construction is the general contractor for the property, which is located at the northwest corner of Fifth Avenue and West 43rd Street, one block north of Bryant Park.

Foundations Underway at 205 Java Street in Greenpoint, Brooklyn

Excavation and foundations are progressing at 205 Java Street, the site of a seven-story residential building in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Designed by Melamed Architect PC and developed by 205 Java St. LLC, which purchased the 7,500-square-foot property for $2.625 million, the structure will replace a two-story home and yield an undisclosed number of units. HP Builders NYC LLC is the general contractor for the project, which is located at the corner of Java Street and McGuinness Boulevard.
