Mount Pleasant Approves Zoning Amendments for North 80 Science Village in Westchester County

Local officials from the Town of Mount Pleasant unanimously approved zoning amendments that will facilitate the construction of North 80, a three-million-square-foot science and technology village. Located in Valhalla, a hamlet within Westchester County, the development will take shape next to the Westchester Medical Center, New York Medical College, and near the expansive Regeneron Pharmaceuticals complex.

The affordable housing lottery waiting list has launched for Waterside Plaza, a complex with five mixed-use buildings at 10, 20, 25, 30, and 40 Waterside Plaza in Kips Bay, Manhattan. Owned by Brookfield Asset Management as of 2021, the structure yields 1,470 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 26 units for residents at 130 and 160 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $86,606 to $264,800. New tenants get one month rent free.

Construction Nears Completion on Two Manhattan West in Midtown West, Manhattan

Leading off the top ten of our year-end countdown of the tallest buildings under construction in New York is Two Manhattan West, a 935-foot-tall commercial skyscraper in the Manhattan West master plan in Midtown West. Designed by Skidmore Owings & Merrill and developed by Brookfield, the 58-story structure rises directly south of its taller fraternal twin, One Manhattan West, and will yield 1.9 million square feet of office space. W&W Glass in the facade contractor and AECOM Tishman is the general contractor for the property, which is located at the northwest corner of West 31st Street and Ninth Avenue.

1.2-Million-Square-Foot Bronx Logistics Center Tops Out in Hunt’s Point, The Bronx

Construction has topped out on Bronx Logistics Center (BLC), a five-story industrial building in the Hunts Point section of The Bronx. Designed by ARCO Design/Build Industrial and developed by Turnbridge Equities, the structure will span 1.2 million square feet, including 585,000 square feet of Class A warehouse space, a five-story garage for truck fleet parking, and 1,500 surface-level parking spaces. The development is progressing on a 14.2-acre plot along East 149th Street near the East River.
