The Meatpacking District Management Association (BID) has revealed Gansevoort Landing, a new public plaza with expanded seating, artwork, and crosswalks in a busy section of Manhattan’s Meatpacking District. In addition to the BID, project partners include the New York City Department of Transportation, TF Cornerstone, and The Whitney Museum of Art.
Permits have been filed to construct a new 15-story building that will accommodate a jail with accessory parking, loading support spaces, and community space where the Brooklyn Detention Complex once stood in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn….
Construction is in full swing at 43-14 Queens Street, the site of a 19-story residential building in Long Island City, Queens. Designed by SLCE Architects and developed by Rockrose Development, the 229-foot-tall mixed-use structure will yield 193,725 square feet with 301 rental apartments, residential amenities on the 18th floor, a cellar level, and approximately 4,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space. 27-34 Jackson GC, LLC is the general contractor for the property, which is located at the corner of Queens Street and Jackson Avenue.
Construction is finishing up on 96 North 1st Street, a seven-story residential building in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Designed by Zambrano Architectural Design, the 70-foot-tall structure will yield 13,620 square feet of residential space split among six units, as well as a private 33-foot-long rear yard and one enclosed parking space. 96 North 1st Street LC is listed as the owner and Red Rock Construction LLC is listed as the general contractor for the property, which is located on a narrow 5,049-square-foot lot between Berry Street and Wythe Avenue.
The New York City Planning Commission has approved plans to construct a 970-unit affordable housing complex along the Bronx River waterfront. Located in the Crotona Park East neighborhood, the development is currently addressed as 1460-1480 Sheridan Boulevard and will include three 24-story buildings.
