130 William Street Completes Construction in Financial District, Manhattan

Construction has reached completion on 130 William Street, a 66-story residential skyscraper in Manhattan’s Financial District. Designed by Sir David Adjaye of Adjaye Associates and developed by Lightstone, the 800-foot-tall structure yields 242 condominium units marketed by Corcoran Sunshine Marketing Group, with layouts ranging from studios to four-bedroom, full-floor penthouses. Hill West Architects served as architect of record for the property, which is bound by William, Fulton, and Gold Streets. CBRE is in charge of marketing the two retail spaces.

Skanska, Halmar International Secure $1.24B Contract for JFK Airport Roadways Reconstruction Project

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey have awarded a $1.24 billion contract to Skanska and Halmar International for the design and reconstruction of roadways at John F. Kennedy Airport in Queens. The scope of work includes central terminal area roadways, supporting infrastructure, and the Ground Transportation Center.

The affordable housing lottery has launched for 317 Franklin Avenue, a five-story residential building in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. Designed by Amr Ouda of Jay Architect & Engineering and developed by Waterfront Property Management, the structure yields ten residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are five units for residents at 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $104,880 to $198,250.

Permits Filed for 11-8 30th Road in Astoria, Queens

Permits have been filed to expand a two-story structure into a nine-story mixed-use building at 11-8 30th Road in Astoria, Queens. Located between Vernon Boulevard and 12th Street, the lot is closest to the 30th Avenue subway station, serviced by the N and W trains. Vicki Saali under the 3055 Vernon LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications.

TSX Broadway’s Tempo by Hilton Prepares For Late-Summer Opening at 1568 Broadway in Times Square, Manhattan

Construction on TSX Broadway, a 47-story hotel tower at 1568 Broadway in Times Square, reached a milestone as crews turned on TSX Entertainment’s 18,000-square-foot podium LED display. Designed by Perkins Eastman and Mancini Duffy and developed by L&L Holding Company and Fortress Investment Group, the 550,000-square-foot structure will yield 661 hotel rooms operated by Tempo by Hilton, as well as 100,000 square feet of retail space on the lower levels and Times Square’s only cantilevering outdoor performance stage. Positioned above the new retail space is the historic Palace Theater, which was renovated by PBDW Architects and lifted 30 feet above street level in early 2022. Pavarini McGovern is the general contractor for the property, which is located at the corner of Seventh Avenue and West 47th Street.

27 Park Place’s Renovation Nears Completion in Tribeca, Manhattan

Renovation work is nearing completion on 27 Park Place, a five-story commercial building in Tribeca. Designed by Michael Schmitt Architect PC, the project involves a full interior and exterior refurbishment following a six-alarm fire that heavily damaged the structure in 2017. Empire State Development is the general contractor for the property, which is bound by Murray Street to the north, Park Place to the south, and Church Street to the west.

Located at 601 Midland Avenue in Rye, the existing building will be gutted and transformed to accommodate state-of-the-art life sciences research space, blood collections tools, and cell therapy manufacturing facilities.

Demolition Nears Completion for PENN15 Supertall at 15 Penn Plaza in Midtown, Manhattan

Demolition is progressing toward street level on the Hotel Pennsylvania, which is being razed to make way for PENN15, a 1,200-foot commercial supertall at 15 Penn Plaza in Midtown, Manhattan. Designed by Foster + Partners and developed by Vornado Realty Trust, the 56-story skyscraper will yield 2.7 million square feet of office space and will stand as the centerpiece of the massive 7.4-million-square-foot Penn District master plan. Northstar Contracting Group is the demolition contractor for the Hotel Pennsylvania, which is located along Seventh Avenue between West 32nd and 33rd Streets.

Construction is wrapping up on Six Garfield, a 12-story condominium building at 6 Garfield Place in Park Slope, Brooklyn. Designed by DXA Studio and developed by New Empire Real Estate, the structure will yield 33 units in one- to four-bedroom layouts, as well as a suite of amenities. The Aguayo Team at Brown Harris Stevens Development Marketing is leading sales and marketing and New Empire Building is the general contractor for the property, which is located at the corner of Fourth Avenue and Garfield Place.
