Two Manhattan West, a 58-story commercial tower, has officially topped out in Midtown West. Designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, the 935-foot-tall, 2-million-square-foot skyscraper is the final component in Brookfield Properties’ five-building Manhattan West complex, and stands directly to the south of its 996-foot-tall fraternal twin, One Manhattan West.
Permits have been filed for a 21-story mixed-use building at 242 East 71st Street on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Located between Second and Third Avenues, the lot is one block south of the 72nd Street subway station, serviced by the Q train. Gatsby Enterprises is listed as the owner behind the applications.
The affordable housing lottery has launched for 310 Livingston Street Apartments, a 23-story residential building at 308 Livingston Street in Downtown Brooklyn. Designed by Fogarty Finger Architecture and developed by Lonicera Partners, the structure yields 160 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 48 units for residents at 80 to 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $55,715 to $167,570.
Construction has passed the halfway mark on 555 Greenwich Street, a 16-story commercial building in Hudson Square, Manhattan. Designed by COOKFOX Architects and developed by the joint venture Hudson Square Properties, which includes Trinity Church Wall Street, Hines, and Norges Bank Investment Management, the 270,000-square-foot structure will connect on nearly every floor with its adjacent neighbor at 345 Hudson Street via a horizontal overbuild, bringing the overall leasable space to 715,000 square feet. The project is also being designed as one of the city’s most sustainable buildings. Tishman Construction is the contractor for the building, which is rising on a plot bound by Greenwich Street to the west, Charlton Street to the south, and King Street to the north.
The first rendering has been released for 24-01 Queens Plaza North, a 19-story residential tower in Long Island City, Queens. Designed by ODA New York and developed by New Empire Corporation, the building will house more than 100 condominium units ranging from studios up to two-bedrooms. The amenity offerings will include a penthouse resident lounge, communal outdoor spaces, on-site parking, and a fitness center. The lower levels of the building will also house an unspecified commercial volume.
