A hotel boom is taking over the Bronx. Today we noticed plans for a hotel in the northwestern corner of the Bronx, in a working class neighborhood called Norwood. The six-story commercial building would rise at 3466 Webster Avenue, right next to the Williamsbridge stop on the Metro North train.

Six-Story, 20-Unit Residential Building Filed at 1135 Clay Avenue, Fleetwood-Concourse Village

An anonymous Bronx-based LLC has filed applications for a six-story, 20-unit residential building at 1135 Clay Avenue, in the West Bronx’s Fleetwood-Concourse Village section. The project will measure 20,695 square feet and its residential units should average 838 square feet apiece. The units will range from studios to two-bedrooms and will probably be rentals. Paul E. Jennings’s Brooklyn-based Freeform + Deform is the architect of record. The 50-foot-wide, 4,876-square-foot site is currently occupied by a dilapidated two-story structure. Demolition permits haven’t been filed. The 167th Street stop on the D train is eight blocks away.


2692 Creston Avenue

Eight-Story, 16-Unit Residential Building Filed at 2692 Creston Avenue, Fordham

Jamaica-based Phoenix Home Realty has filed applications for an eight-story, 16-unit residential building at 2692 Creston Avenue, in the West Bronx’s Fordham section. The project will measure 19,111 square feet and its residential units should average 947 square feet apiece. It’s not known whether the apartments will be rentals or condominiums, although the former is more likely based on location. Amenities include a recreation space in the cellar and storage for eight bikes. Gerald J. Caliendo’s Briarwood-based architecture firm is the architect of record. The 40-foot-wide, 3,000-square-foot property is currently occupied by a two-and-a-half-story house. Demolition permits haven’t been filed. The Kingsbridge Road stops on the D and 4 trains are located within three blocks of the site.


4511 Third Avenue

Ground Broken for Two-Building, 314-Affordable-Unit Mixed-Use Project at 4511 Third Avenue, Belmont

Over the summer, YIMBY revealed a rendering of the 11-story, 181-affordable-unit mixed-use building planned at 4511 Third Avenue, in the Belmont section of the Bronx. Details for separate 12-story, 133-affordable-unit mixed-use project down the street at 4439 Third Avenue were also included. The developers, SBS Health System, L+M Development Partners, and Hornig Capital Partners, have recently broken ground on the project. The new buildings will measure 294,207 square feet and 145,952 square feet, respectively.
