Twin Three-Story, Two-Family Houses Coming to 46-16 162nd Street, East Flushing

An anonymous Financial District-based LLC has filed applications for twin three-story, two-family residential buildings at 46-12 – 46-16 162nd Street, in East Flushing. The buildings will measure 4,010 square feet each. Across both, the apartments should average a family-sized 1,472 square feet apiece. Dezhang Fang’s Flushing-based firm is the architect of record. The 6,000-square-foot plot is occupied by a one-and-a-half-story house. Demolition permits were filed in December.

Four-Story, Eight-Unit Residential Building Proposed at 91 Franklin Avenue, Bedford-Stuyvesant

An anonymous Brooklyn-based LLC has filed applications for a four-story, eight-unit residential building at 91 Franklin Avenue, located in northwestern Bedford-Stuyvesant. The project would measure 16,195 square feet and its residential units should average 1,567 square feet apiece, indicative of apartments with family-sized configurations. Boaz Golani’s Brooklyn-based BEAM Group is the architect of record. The 5,000-square-foot site is occupied by a three-story townhouse and a single-story garage. Demolition permits have not been filed at this time. The project will have to receive approval through the city’s Uniform Land Use Review Procedure (ULURP) since the site is located in a manufacturing district.

NYU Langone Plans Its Fifth Regional Cancer Clinic at 5718 Second Avenue, Sunset Park

NYU Langone Medical Center is planning an outpatient cancer clinic at 5718 Second Avenue, located between 57th and 58th streets in Sunset Park. The new facility will be a center for chemotherapy and radiation therapies, Crain’s reported. The existing two-story, 28,700-square-foot commercial building at the site will be gut-renovated to accommodate the clinic. The building will receive a new façade, as well, NYU Langone revealed to YIMBY, although the final design remains a work in progress. Building permits to renovate the structure have not been applied for at this time. The property was acquired in the spring of 2016 for $12.1 million.
