215 Pearl Street’s Exterior Reaches Long-Awaited Completion in Financial District

External work is complete at 215 Pearl Street, a 38-story hotel in the Financial District. Gene Kaufman Architect, which took over from Nobutaka Ashihara Architects, is the architect of record and designing interiors as well. Lam Group is developing with The Rinaldi Group as the construction manager, the 165,655-square-foot structure will house a Courtyard by Marriott and a Residence Inn by Marriott with a total of 320 guest rooms.

Glass Regresses From One Seaport’s Allegedly Leaning Concrete Frame, in the Financial District

It appears that exterior progress has taken a step backward on Seaport Residences, a 60-story residential skyscraper formerly known as One Seaport at 161 Maiden Lane in the Financial District. Located on the border of the South Street Seaport District, the 200,000-square-foot building is designed by Hill West Architects and developed by Fortis Property Group LLC, with Ray Builders serving as the contractor. Groves & Co is the interior designer for the 80 units, which are being managed by Douglas Elliman Development Marketing.

Trinity Commons on Track for 2021 Opening at 74 Trinity Place in the Financial District

Construction appears substantially complete on Trinity Commons, a 26-story mixed-use tower planned to open next year at 74 Trinity Place in the Financial District. Alternately addressed as 107 Greenwich Street, the 424-foot-tall building is designed by Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects and developed by Trinity Real Estate, with Stephen B. Jacobs Group as the executive architect.

Final Façade Begins Installation on Gene Kaufman’s 120 Water Street in the Financial District

External work on 120 Water Street is moving along. The topped-out, 28-story project is designed by Gene Kaufman Architects and is being developed by Atlas Hospitality as a Hotel Indigo in the Financial District. The planned 52,000-square-foot superstructure will contain 128 rooms managed by Fortuna Realty Group.

Exclusive Renderings Revealed for The West at 547 West 47th Street in Hell’s Kitchen

New renderings have been unveiled for The West, a new residential development at 547 West 47th Street in Hell’s Kitchen. Designed by Concrete and developed by CB Developers, SK Development and Ironstate Development, the block-long development will rise 12 stories and yield 219 units, ranging from studios to three-bedrooms, all above a 40,000-square-foot ground-floor car dealership. The Marketing Directors is exclusively handling sales and marketing.

Demolition Continues on 1 Park Row in the Financial District

Demolition work is ramping up at 1 Park Row in the Financial District, where a mixed-use building is planned to rise. Little information has been disclosed on the scope of the new project, which is designed by Fogarty Finger Architects and developed by Guardian Realty Management, since plans and renderings were released in December 2017. According to the depiction, the development could stand at least nine stories high.

450 Eleventh Avenue’s Superstructure Takes Shape in Hudson Yards

Construction is several stories above street level and rising at 450 Eleventh Avenue, a 487-foot-tall, 531-room hotel from Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide in Hudson Yards. Designed by DSM Design Group and developed by Marx Development Group, the 43-story tower is one of several new high-rise projects ascending to the north of Related Companies‘ first phase of Hudson Yards, across from the Jacob K. Javits Center. The boom in construction is gradually transforming this previously underdeveloped area of Midtown West into a thriving mixed-use destination.

Elizabeth H. Berger Plaza’s Transformation Continues in the Financial District

Work is in full swing at Elizabeth H. Berger Plaza, a small park in the Financial District. Bound by Greenwich Street to the west, Edgar Street to the north, and Trinity Place to the east, the project involves the unification of two public spaces that were formerly divided by an exit lane from the Hugh L. Cary Tunnel. George Vellonakis is the landscape architect of the park, which is named for the late Downtown Alliance president Elizabeth Berger, who passed away in 2013.

Tin Building’s Final Cladding Begins Installation in the Seaport District

Curtain wall work is progressing on the Tin Building, a 53,000-square-foot market structure on the rebuilt Pier 17 in the South Street Seaport District. Designed by SHoP Architects and developed by Howard Hughes Corporation with Plaza Construction as construction manager, the project will feature a seafood-themed market by Jean-Georges Vongerichten, the main tenant of the property.
