532 West 20th Street’s Concrete Façade Revealed From Behind Scaffolding in Chelsea

The concrete façade of 532 West 20th Street has recently been revealed as the black netting and scaffolding was disassembled from the 11-story residential project in Chelsea. Designed by design-build firm DDG, which purchased the plot for $24.25 million in 2014, the structure will yield 27,019 square feet of residential space divided into nine apartments, averaging 3,000 square feet apiece.

Construction has topped out at 540 Sixth Avenue, a 12-story condominium building in Chelsea. Designed by Morris Adjmi Architects and developed by Landsea Homes and DNA Development, the structure will yield 50 units across 80,000 square feet of residential space, with sales and marketing led by Douglas Elliman. The property, which is located at the corner of West 14th Street and Sixth Avenue, will also feature ground-floor retail space.

Landscaping work is continuing on Little Island, Thomas Heatherwick‘s 2.4-acre Hudson River park at Pier 55 in Chelsea. More trees and greenery have been delivered and planted across the undulating mass of reinforced concrete and steel. The project, which was conceived to resemble a leaf floating on water, is being managed by the Hudson River Park Trust (HRPT), with landscape design by MNLA.
