City agencies have announced the development of an affordable housing project dedicated to low- and extremely low-income senior citizens in the Soundview section of The Bronx. Known as Casa Celina, it is a collaboration between NYCHA and the city’s department of Housing Preservation and Development with private entities Xenolith Partners, The Kretchmer Companies, ELH Mgmt., and the Jewish Association Serving the Aging, known colloquially as JASA.

New Renderings Reveal Two Affordable Housing Developments in Yonkers, New York

The Yonkers Industrial Development Agency (IDA) has released renderings of two forthcoming affordable housing developments—Dayspring Commons and 9-11 Riverdale Avenue—that will comprise a total of 92 rental homes and a small amount of commercial area.

City Agencies Announce Affordable Housing Complex at Contentious Broadway Triangle Site in Brooklyn

In a recent announcement, New York City’s Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) and the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) revealed a multi-phase affordable housing development in Brooklyn. Known as Broadway Triangle, the wedge-shaped plot of land sits at the intersection of Williamsburg, Bushwick, and Bedford-Stuyvesant and will eventually give rise to a five-building housing complex for low-income households and the formerly homeless.

10 Jay Street’s Crystalline Office Conversion Nears Completion in DUMBO, Brooklyn

New photos from the ODA-designed conversion of 10 Jay Street offer a first look at the interior of the boldly reimagined structure. Located on the shores of DUMBO, Brooklyn, the landmarked property was constructed in 1898 and originally served as the Arbuckle Brothers Sugar Refinery. In 1925 the building was converted to a winery, but by end of the decade, one of its masonry facades had been torn off and the exposed building fell into disrepair.

The Loketch Group Announces Townhouse Development in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn

The Loketch Group and Marvel Architects have again teamed up on a new low-rise residential development in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn. Located at 444 Vanderbilt Avenue, the new, three-story property will include seven neighboring townhomes, each measuring approximately 4,000 square feet. The homes also include private parking.

The Loketch Group has released renderings of a new, five-story rental development at 445 Vanderbilt Avenue in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn. The structure will contain 44,875 square feet of residential area, an enclosed parking structure, and a 64-foot-long rear yard.

Copper Dome Proposed for St. John the Divine Heads to Landmarks for Approval

This week New York City’s Landmarks Preservation Commission will consider proposals to help preserve and rehabilitate the massive, vaulted dome ceiling of The Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine. If approved, the structure’s existing granite dome would be encased by a bronze-hued copper enclosure.

Colonial Court Residences Tops Out at 8 Boulevard West in Pelham, New York

Colonial Court, the fourth residential development from Elk Homes, has topped out in Pelham, New York. Located in Westchester County at 8 Boulevard West, the five-story structure is the first of its kind following a revamping of zoning and building codes designed to encourage the expansion of mixed-use commercial, office, retail, and housing projects within the Village of Pelham.

Construction Starts for Urban View Development Group’s 1206 Putnam Avenue in Bushwick, Brooklyn
